Russell Westbrook Draft - CHAMPIONSHIP - lilroddyb** vs Mr Ringer

Post#1 » by durantbird » Sun Aug 30, 2026 4:23 am

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, you may post a vote by commenting to this post (notice we will not be using a poll) - all participants of the draft are invited and encouraged to post a vote, so as other regular participants of the games in the forum. You are not required to explain your vote, but you are welcome to do so if you want.

First to 4 votes wins. There is no AI vote when the host is playing in the matchup.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

C: Hakeem Olajuwon 38 min / Nick Collison 10 min
Pf: Horace Grant 38 min / Nick Collison 5 min / Kyle Anderson 5 min
Sf: Eddie Jones 38 min / Kyle Anderson 10 min
Sg: Shai Gilgeous Alexander 38 min / Delon Wright 10 min
Pg: Steph Curry 38 min / Delon Wright 10 min

1993 Hakeem Olajuwon 19.5 cat 2
2026 Shai Gilgeous Alexander 19.4 cat 1
1998 Eddie Jones 12.6 cat 4
2017 Kyle Anderson 3 cat 5
2024 Delon Wright 4 cat 3
2015 Steph Curry 16.8 cat 6
2012 Nick Collison 3.2
1991 Horace Grant 9.4

tfga: 87.9

Everyone in the starting lineup are at their peaks or close to it, and two of them are arguably in the top ten ( Hakeem and Steph ) and Shai is top three player in the game today. Eddie Jones is usually third option in these games but here he is 4th option and Horace Grant is 5th option who was part of Bulls big three back in the day. The bench is cheap fga wise but all of them were decent role players

The team fits well together. The best offball player in Steph spacing the floor for everyone, Hakeem requiring double teams underneath the basket, with all the attention that Steph and Hakeem require will give Shai room to opperate and he can get anywhere on the court. If you somehow can slow down any of them then Eddie Jones or Grant can step up.

Spacing is fine with Steph, Shai, Eddie, Kyle and Delon wright being great to decent threepoint shooters and the rest are good midrange shooters

Defense

All my guys are elite defenders or decent outside of Steph Curry

Defensive matchup

Hakeem/ Nick Collison on Duncan/ STeven Adams
Horace Grant/Nick Collison on Porzingis
Eddie jones / Horace Grant / Kyle on Lebron James
Shai/ Delon on Paul George
Steph / Delon on Danny Green

OVerall

Ringer build a great Lebron team that fits well together and the talent level is great. I still think my talent and fit is higher overall.

Three mvp type guys vs three mvp type guys ( Hakeem, Steph and Shai vs Lebron, Duncan and Paul George ) I think George is worst of the them and since this is not Miami or cavs Lebron I don't think lebron is necessarily the best player here.

I persronally think Horace Grant and Eddie Jones are quite a bit better than Porzingis and Danny Green

My bench is cheap but all of my role players had high impact. Luc Mbah a Moute had really bad season in the year chosen and is the worst player in the matchup

Anyway always hard to win against well built Lebron Teams and this team is really good

best of luck Ringer

LeBron James 20’ - 19.4 (Lakers)
Danny Green 14’ - 7.4 (3 seasons, 3 teams)
Paul George 18’ - 17.0 (Thunder)
Tim Duncan 05’ - 15.8 (10 years)
Kristaps Porzingis 23’ - 15.7 (Wizards)
Dana Barros 92’ - 6.6 (drafted by Seattle)
Luc Mbah a Moute 16’ - 3 (UCLA)
Ateven Adams 25’ - 3 (Rockets)

87.9/88

LeBron 28\Barros 20
Green 38\PG 10
PG 28\LeBron 10\Luc 10
Timmy 38\Luc 10
Porzi 35\Adams 13

Green on Steph, George on Shai, LeBron on EJ, Porzingis on Grant, Duncan on Hakeem
A solid matchup for me, with no weak defenders around, I match an all time defender to the challenge against Hakeem, with 4 very good perimeter defenders to take on the two main stars and Jones as well on a lower usage. I personally think Shai and Steph are stepping on some toes between them which would help stop both guards

On offense I can use what Roddy doesn’t have on me, a hole in his defence called Stephen Curry, I drag him on switches, alongside Shai who’s not good enough to hold a backline alone. LeBron, PG together should work it through terrifically. Duncan and Porzingis create a very unique, diverse frontcourt with several attacking points that are hard to stop to maximize the offensive-effect on my team

Vote Ringer

I prefer Roddy in a vacuum but he doesn't have a very good LeBron cover

Vote roddy, Hakeem helps mitigate the lack of an ideal individual matchup for LeBron
