You missed my posts on this. Trading Deni made sense the following year - only for a much bigger haul. I think nate had it best on why this was the right move (it does annoy me a bit that we can wrap or collective heads around that one).

And nobody has ever answered the argument of how we would no question get a better deal for Deni than we got.

Let’s see: Why does this front office keep recruiting too many Tre’s? We are cornering the market on them. Don’t they know that’s gonna be maddening to keep track of in the broadcast?

Hmm. How come Winger has no imagination beyond borrowing from Oklahoma? Trae Young grew up there. Tre Mann was recruited. Alex Sarr’s brother played for them. He even tried to bring in Westbrook. Dillon Jones for a moment. I’m waiting to hear news that he’s gotten the rights to Nikola Jokic’s severed testicle.

What else.

What is their fetish for top picks? We even added John Wall to the front office. Ewing. Couldn’t quit on Bagwell. Ayton.

Why are we allergic to rebounding? Low post skill. They like multi tool players but the only tool missing from the kit is competent board work. We can dribble and pass and hoist outside shots from any position, but the only plus rebounder we’ve picked up is AD. And he’s tired of doing that work. Wants to play like another giant guard. We’ve got 13 oversized guards on the roster. Can we get bigs who want to play big?

I don't love the Young contract, but this news item isn't some zinger. The Kings are in a very different situation -- ie, at the very beginning of a rebuild, and already with a high payroll. The Wizards' rationale doesn't apply to the Kings.

I think there's some truth to this one. Their emphasis on versatility has come at the expense of physicality. The young players will surely bulk up some, but I doubt any (aside from maybe AJ) will become a plus in that regard. They could really use an Isaiah Stewart type, something Dawkins has not yet shown any interest in (unless we count Okpara?).
