Dr Positivity wrote:After fixing a typo mistaking a Giannis vote for Durant before, the current votes are Paul 13-Durant 13-Erving 9-Giannis 7, Moses 4-K Malone 2-Barkley 1. So I will run off Erving and Giannis to decide the Paul and Durant order. The available voters are Djoker (Moses/Erving), OldSchoolNoBull (Erving/Giannis).

KD. His team success in GS is cheap, but he also had a Finals run and two WCF runs in OKC, with good WOWY too.

Re: Moses.

He played significantly more minutes than Caldwell Jones. So the replacement center is playing a lot more in Houston in ‘83.

There is a number of possible voters from last thread out there, along with the one runoff, so I will extend this a bit until later today.

So that’s true, but we’d only expect that to result in the Rockets being better defensively with Moses if Moses was similarly good defensively as Caldwell. If Moses was a weak defender then Moses playing more would still be bad! It’s hard to see how Moses playing more minutes could lead to noticeably better defensive results unless Moses’s per minute defensive value was at least similar to Caldwell Jones’s. And it’s basically impossible to imagine it if Moses was a bad defender.

Voting Post

#20 Chris Paul
#21 Kevin Durant

I think this is where Durant gets in. An exceptional body of work and one of the greatest scorers ever with a well-rounded game lagging a bit behind his scoring prowess but a strong post-season profile.

Chris Paul is, in terms of talent and average level of play, the best point guard we have ever seen in the league. A preposterous post-season resume coupled with mixed-to-disappointing results to end his seasons moves him down from Top 10 to still Top 20 (in this project). Incredible box-score and impact production and data with massive impact signals on teammates efficiency and +/-.

20. Kevin Durant- One of the best scorers and shooters ever especially in the mid range. Improved his passing somewhat in 2013 as well. Although his 3pt percentage dips alot in the playoffs when he was playing for OKC which is why I think Dirk was probably more consistent as a scorer than KD.

21. Julius Erving- Almost took Paul at the spot but i think Erving is more consistent. Paul gets hurt almost every playoff run it seems.

Not that it changes the results but it looks like you missed my 2nd place vote for Dr J.
