"Should"? No

Will? Certainly...

I don't love the picks, but who would this be? Bearing in mind most teams wouldn't take back Ingram.

over the past 10 years Kawhi has been the 3rd best playoff scorer with a career 29/8/5 on 51/39/88 shooting percentages in 71 games, to go with his elite defense.

and for everyone who thinks he's too old, he shot 51/39/90 last year and was 7th in MVP voting. how the f does anyone vote NO in this poll???

this thread is not going to age well. y'all have no idea what it will be like going up against Kawhi, Scottie and CMB.

Over the past 10 years he has 2258 points, a third of which came in the 2019 run, only 602 in the last 5 years.
In that span lebron had 3501, curry 3111, durant 2899, harden 2866, jokic 2735, Tatum 3076 9 seasons, Jalen brown 2788 9 seasons, Brunson 2240 in 8... These are the guys I checked because I couldn't find a reliable prompt. In the last 5 years Andrew Wiggins has more playoff points than kawhi. 3rd best playoff scorer? You'll be lucky to get 150 playoff minutes from him

Absolutely, players of Kawhi’s caliber cost a lot more. Look at what 35 year old KD got traded for three years ago. Kawhi put up a better year and played more games in the year he was traded.

For two unprotected picks and a swap? I bet a lot of teams would absorb Ingram.

Kawhi average 28/6/4 /2 in 65 games last year, career high in ave. points somehow. Passed the eye test too, for me at least. He plays more than you think at 60 games a season other than the one he sat out. Even if he'll be one year older, that's absolutely worth a couple of picks, especially if Barnes and co. can carry some of the load during the regular season. a long playoff run is only a bonus though.

Come on man, thats something.. The distortion of reality is funny, I just finished reading a book 10 minutes ago and there was a chapter of two fables about same story, written from two opposite sides, showing the propaganda effect and how each sides sees other as the vilain and themselves as heroes. This was basically it, from Laker fans perspective, winning Raptors a championship was ''benting and screwing them over'', and going to LA, one and only city he wanted to play in, is "bailing to the first team that gave to his depands''. I mean wow haha, thats fantastic, inspiring literature stuff

Teams don’t trade “great young prospects”. And if they do the price is much higher than the Raptors package for Kawhi. Guys like Bane and Bridges are going for 4 1sts. Walker Kessler just went for 2 unprotected 1sts and 2 swaps.

2 unprotected 1sts and a swap is the price for a 3rd option. At best you can maybe get a Lamelo type, who has a bunch of questions on his own.

The business aspect of this deal is what is being overlooked: Kawhi makes going to a Raptors game a "thing" and an event
At least 20% of the fans (OOPS- ATTENDEES, NOT FANS) are going to want to go to a game based on the city the opponent is from, and not the team. "Ohh- New York or San Francisco- Ohhh, those are real deal cities! It sure would be glorious to see and be seen in the arena on those nights! Ohh!" They simply do not know that the Knicks are the champions, and do not care. And those non - fans bring the cash. And so the Raptors owners can charge full premium prices and have no family fun day promotions. They no doubt already have expensive food options, and Scotch figured out, but they may need to work on Champagne by-the-glass selections.

Give the Raptors credit: Because of the return of Kawhi, they no longer have to concern themselves with beer and popcorn or hot dog sales. They do need to up the Truffle Oiled Chicken Skewers, however.
Holy Moses! Take a look! Flesh decayed in every nook! Some rare bits of brain lie here, Mortal loads of beef and beer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_McKittrick_Ros

That's exactly what I meant by a bad prompt, unless you think flashes in the pan like cade or banchero belong over guys like Tatum and brown as playoff scorers in the last 10 years

But if you want to be that simplistic you can address the other point, that kawhis first 5 years are carrying the last 5:

Suddenly kawhis is 18th, I wonder which is a better indicator for next year? Good luck with the 150 playoff minutes, assuming you can get there with him missing 1/3 of the rs

dude you have no idea what will happen next year. and neither do i. last year Kawhi was a top 5-7 player in the league. that's good enough for me. and i can 100% guarantee it would be good enough for you too if he was going to whatever team you cheer for. so give it a rest.

time will tell, like i said. if you're right go nuts. i'll sure as hell be going nuts if he ends up with a 3rd FMVP.
