Despite the fact we are not winning games, I am impressed by our hitting. Mike Fontenot is going to make the team if he keeps this up. Fukudome has impressed me with his patience. Derrek Lee has had a pretty good Spring. Ryan Theriot is trying to tell Hendry not to go after Roberts. And we are still missing Aramis and Soriano who are 2 great hitters. The reason we are losing is because we are giving our young pitchers chances and they aren't pitching well. I'm not concerned at all with the way things have started.

The Cubs have had a variety of injuries this spring. So far, infielder Mark DeRosa was hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat, pitcher Jose Ascanio had a bruised face after getting punched in a robbery attempt, and outfielder Felix Pie missed a couple of days early because of a twisted testicle. Third baseman Aramis Ramirez remains sidelined with a sore right shoulder.
