Sidney Ponson is the type of guy you never know your going to get out of him. Right when you think his career is over, he comes out and pitches well. I'm curious to see what he ends up doing.

He pitched well? I thought teams were just giving this guy a tryout because of his name.

i think if he's not on the roster by may 1 he can become a f/a, given brandon mccarthy's injury and people being unsure on if mendoza and kason gabbard sucking ass this spring he could be back up soon. texas doesnt have to use a 5th starter until april 11th or 12th though so we'll see.

Next time I'm going to apply the green text. While his career is coming to an end, I still believe he can find away to win some games, but at this point he needs so much run support to rely on. If he stayed healthy, he possibly could have reached 300 wins, but he also needed to have better control, and maybe he should find away to change the way he pitches. I also question his work ethic and how much time he puts towards studying his opponents.

here's the DMN link to it:

i had to work a concert tonight and i just saw this 10 minutes ago and was shocked to see it. he mustve been a royal prick to just get released like this. the rangers actually had a decent foursome w/him, padilla, feldman and millwood. and who knows how long feldman will be able to pitch for us since he'll easily pitch the most innings of his career.

it'll be interesting to see who gets called up, but for now we have 2 spots where the bullpen will be seeing heavy innings.

Should Astros get Sidney Ponson?

"Would you like to have Sidney Ponson? Let's face it, folks, the Astros need pitching. And Ponson can pitch. The Texas Rangers just let go of him because they deemed him a "disruptive force" in the clubhouse. He also has two DWI's in his past, and you all know what I think about that. With that said, a few Astros players asked me to strongly encourage the Astros to sign Ponson. I don't usually like to do the players' bidding, but heck, I need a blog entry. So here we go. "We need that guy," one friend of Ponson's said. "We could use him. He's a good teammate.""
