There may not be room for Murton on this roster with Cedeno/Fontenot, Ward, and Blanco on the bench. Apparently Hendry told Murton he would be traded when they signed Fukudome. Murton wants to start somewhere.

From what I have read at various Toronto sites, the fans love this guy and he is another all out hustle type players. Theriot's new enemy...

Johnson now overtakes Drew Gooden with the best goatee in Chicago.

We will see Reed in about 10 minutes when the Cubs game starts against San Fransisco.

Love the signing. Now we don't have to give up a prospect for some mediocre vet (Byrd, Payton, Crisp, etc).

I've seen him play alot since I watch so many Jays games. He's a good defender with patience at the plate. Solid guy to bring off the bench.

This move makes too much sense to be true.

When I heard he was available I didn't think we would get him - simply because it made too much sense.

Interesting. I'm curious to see how his defense is. He's a nice bat.

Our bench is fhking deep.

Ward is money, Johnson, Murton, etc..

I've watched him throughout his career this is a great signing for you guys and I hope you finally win the Series!
Johnson is a streaky hitter. He can go on tears or be terrible, but he consistently kills lefties.
He's a well above average fielder. Great arm, great speed, covers tons of ground. In college, Johnson played centre field ahead of future gold glover Aaron Rowand because he was even better.
Another thing you guys will notice is he gets beaned a ton and hits a lot of leadoff homers if you bat him leadoff.
I have no idea why the Jays would choose the washed-up Stewart over him, but oh well.

Biggest plus is he crushes LHP...makes sense to platoon him with Pie...also a plus defender at all three spots. Really a great pickup...probably better than the alternatives they were looking to trade for.

+.900 OPS vs lefties in his career.
