pudge is only worth keeping around if the price is right like 4 million because i would like to believe this is the season where all his statistics go down, a 36 yr old catcher has only so many miles left and this year will be those miles.

Pudge is still good defensively, but his bat is getting to be a liability at this point. He's definitely not worth his contract, I think the Tigers picked up his option out of good faith. For a championship contending team, the Tigers should try and improve the position next offseason.

Pudge cant get on base anymore and his power numbers have dropped each year since his relatively stellar debut season with the team.

I get why his option was held onto, as he's still a good defensive catcher and his signing represents the start of the turnaround for this franchise, but the Tigers really need to consider moving in another direction after next season.

Not sure if returning Inge is the answer either, but we'll see....

He still has a nice glove and can handle the staff, but he is definitely not what he once was with the stick.

Where in the world did you read/hear that Inge was willing to take the spot. Catching seems to be the only spot he truly hates.

It would be nice/ideal if was willing to catch, because hes a lot better then anyone else this team has outside of Ivan...of course it would set up the "next big Tigers move"...but thats a different story.

Return to Detroit Tigers
