I would do it. Helton, Beltran I think are the best players in the deal.

I don't like that trade. You are softer at third while you already have two more than capable first basemen and your pitching staff is weaker now. Beltran is nice but unless you have five starting OF spots, that's just overkill because you are going to have a really strong bench that won't get playing time. And I believe your pitching staff is weaker now because Wainwright and Billingsley are solid, above average pitchers. The trade probably won't hurt you but you aren't going to get a ton of wins out of Lincecum and Buehrle and Garza/Tampa is a crapshoot. Nah, not a fan of that trade. mahalo

yeah I don't really like the trade for you based on your roster.

you have no depth in pitching and on top of that your lineup doesn't significantly improve.

Now Garza's on the DL, Smoltz is having his yearly neck/shoulder issue before the season started, and you are going to be relying on the ace of the worst offensive team in recent memory to lead your pitching staff. Way to get hosed a week after the deal bro. mahalo
