Ben is not on his game at all today. Good thing that extra day of rest worked well

Exactly. I was one of the biggest advocates for Braun to start the season as the 3rd baseman in Milwaukee because Graffanino/Counsell just won't get it done at 3rd base offensively for teams that have playoff aspirations. Now I see they can't even get it done defensively.

Might as well call up the kid and let him play.

Fine, bring him up, but half the people on this board will be screaming when he launches a ball over Fielder and into the 6th row.

Yeah except our other 3rd basemen are doing THE EXACT SAME THING ON DEFENSE!

You kids can clammor about Graffanino for this game all you want, he's responsible for maybe one run. But it's 8-2, look at your pitcher.

He's responsible for TWO in the FIRST inning plus the other error that led to a run.

Okay defense and crappy hitting. I love it!

How about Braun's 10 games? 1 error.

Yep, and it's now 9-2. He's not responsible for Eckstein getting on in the first inning, Golden Boy wouldn't make that play. The pop-up some should have had, but with the wind taking it and Hardy covering second because Eckstein was running, no one was going to get there. I turned off the game in the 5th, I don't know how the throwing error came about or where it was charged, but I can't find it anywhere on Gameday.

The combo of Graffanino and Counsell have been fine defensively until today, and have been solid offensively. But keep ignoring that the ace of this staff was just shelled and Villanueva continues to be uneffective if it makes you feel better about God Braun.

No they haven't.

.261/.333/.370/.703/0 HR's/6 RBI's you're telling me Braun couldn't do that?

And I'm not ignoring anything about Sheets or Villanueva. Sheets was off today no denying that. However our 3rd base platoon is NOT good offensively and if they keep doing this crap on defense they will combine to become the absolute WORST 3rd base combination in the league.

Why are you so against Braun coming up and starting?

I'm not against Braun coming up and starting. I'm against it happening right now. He's not ready to start in the Major Leagues as a third baseman, plain and simple. He needs to work on his defense still. Bring him up in June. And I'll repeat, I believe this is the first time that the third base position has looked shotty on defense this season.

At least the first half inning was promising... Sheets didn't really have it again today. Hope he bounces back soon. Gonna have these kind of days though. Just have to avoid the losing streaks.

i agree with trwi7, i mean there is a good chance that Graffinino and Counell won't hit 1 HR this whole year!! And by the way, if u look at Braun's success defensivly right now in Nashville, the guy is becoming pretty good. IMO if Braun is called up, he could end up being ROY. I mean hes hitting almost .400 in Nashville, and hes practicly perfect defensively. If we want to platoon, i would go with Counsell and Braun. Besides we all remember what we though of Weeks' defense when he came up, but look at him now...

we need some more offense from the 3rd Base position, and we need it NOW. If we want to contend, we need to have some production from our 3rd Basemen and we sure as hell aren't getting any right now!

Was watching the telecast. I did not see a single Sheets fastball top 90 MPH. Wonder if something is up with him? Hope we don't hear in a day or so that he is shut down again because of his shoulder.

The first inning he was at 94, but the 2nd inning he was down to 88

And what a shock, ryanbraun75 wants Ryan Braun in Milwaukee right now

You all are acting as if we are 6-40. We are still tied for first place. But my game thread luck streak has run out. Some one else make tommarows game thread.

His bat is ready but the Brewers are going to keep him in the minors until he learns to throw to first accurately. Now considering he has been playing the left side of the infield in high school, college and the minors and still can't consistantly make that throw, we should see him on the big league club about 2012.
In the mean time, we have an above average corner infielder dying in center field and not batting his weight because of it.
As the Guinness guys would say....BRILLIANT!!

i agree, bill hall shouldn't be our centerfielder. He should be playing 3rd base. He played great defense at SS last year, and i think that he should be our 3rd basemen. As far as Braun Goes, ive heard talk that he could be an OF and that before they bring him up, they want to try him at LF. I wouldn't mind that as long as they trade Mench or Jenkins. IMO it should be mench because he doesn't even get to play.
