A couple of wins here would be huge, if we could manage them.

We need to start reducing distance between ourselves and the other teams in the central. You can only assume the Royals will fade, but the Indians and White Sox could be trouble, especially if we don't start surging soon.

Nice....

A pitcher I know nothing about is pitching a great game against a major division opponent and our new acquisitions are leading the charge.

Can't ask for much more than that, can ya?

I only know he didn't pitch much in the league in the last 2 years. He's doing great who knows, he could take that spot until Dontrelle is 100% healthy.

Another thought: If we win this game, the Indians will have the same record we do. :D

How did Galarraga look for us? I missed the game because of work, though I wish I'd seen it. Was it the Cleveland bats or our pitcher that kept the tribe scoring so low?

Galarraga gave up a homer in the 1st and then retired the next 17 batters without a single walk. In the 7th he hit two batters and was taken out for Grilli. He ended up playing 6 2/3 with 6 K 0 BB and 2 ER after Grilli let one of the bases score (Jamey Carroll I believe) after Armando left the game. After 50 pitches he had 35 strikes and 15 balls... not a bad ratio at all. I don't know what his final pitch ratio was though.

This kid was GREAT!! He was definitely the reason for Clevelands poor offense.

Of course getting 11 runs to back ya up and get some breathing room helped allieviate some of the pressure.

Man, another reliable pitcher is just what we needed. One outing is one outing, but it would be great to have an infusion to our pitching, wherever it comes from.

We had glimpses of his real stuff against the White Sox last time. To be fair, Verlander hasn't had a whole lot of support. He had a 1 run game through 7 innings in the last outing. If we had a bullpen and weren't frigging one-hit he could have had a win.

Today, he definitely isn't stellar. 5-1 isn't insurmountable either, but then Miner comes in and helps put the game out of reach.
