Cincinnati (9-12) vs. Houston (9-12)

Where: Great America BallPark
When: 7:10 Wednesday 4/23

Pitching matchups:

HOU: RHP Chris Sampson (0-2, 8.74 ERA)
Sampson had the shortest start of his career in his previous outing, lasting just two-thirds of an inning in an 11-5 loss to Colorado on Friday night. He's pitched well against Cincinnati, going 1-0 with a 2.93 ERA in 15 1/3 career innings, including two earned runs in seven innings in a start at Great American Ball Park last year.

CIN: RHP Bronson Arroyo (0-2, 5.48 ERA)
Arroyo pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts in a 5-2 loss to the Brewers on Friday. High pitch counts have continually marred his outings. He threw 26 first-inning pitches before finishing with 116. Arroyo is also putting the leadoff batter on base a lot. He did it in four of the six innings he pitched.

Notes:

Corey Patterson snapped a career-high 0-for-22 skid with a one-out triple to right field in the eighth inning of Tuesday's win. ... Jerry Hairston Jr. was the first Reds player to notch a four-hit game when he went 4-for-5 with three RBIs Tuesday. ... Edwin Encarnacion's career-best hitting streak is now at 12 games.

This pitcher the Stro's are going to run at us has had his fair share of problems so far this year. He might be the perfect guy to keep the offense hot.

Offense better start scoring some runs soon because I know its early but we cannot afford to fall too far behind.

Bronson is struggling again. 4-1 them in the 4th. 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Come on Bronson stop this inning already.

Jockety is back on now saying he doesn't know what is wrong with Bronson but we need to get him fixed. He might be hinting that Bronson could be packaged (speculation on my part).

Another hit 5-1 still 2 outs and 1st and 3rd again. :banghead:

86 pitches in the 4th inning and he hasn't made it to the 6th yet this year, out comes the pitching coach. :banghead:

Hey, King did you find a stream to the sixers game?

7-1 Astros still in the 4th.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Dribbler back to the pitcher, error to first on the throw 2 more score 9-1 still in the 4th with 2 outs. 7 runs in the 4th it was 2-1 when this inning began.

Bronson gave up 8 earned runs in 3 and 2/3's. :noway:
