Yes yes yes, Granderson comes back and my other fantasy baseball team is booming.

Leadoff homer by Granderson, here comes the Tigers. Grrrrr!
Same here for my paid league.
My team has done amazing so far especially on the hitting end.

C: Soto
1B: Atkins
2B: Cano
SS: Furcal
3B: A Rod
OF: Manny
OF: Justin Upton
OF: Granderson
Util: James Loney
Bench: Melky Cabrera
Bench: Evan Longoria
Bench: Ryan Garko

P: Jake Peavy
P: Roy Oswalt
P: Tim Lincecum
P: Ted Lilly (Added after he was dropped after his 0-3 start :D )
P: Francisco Liriano
P: Oliver Perez
P: Hiroki Kuroda
RP: Chad Cordero
RP: Chad Qualls
DL: Joe Borowski (Only keeping him to get an extra spot)

I figured my pitching would lead me to the playoffs this year but instead, I have one of the top hitting teams in my league. One thing you may notice is I am using the John Paxson method with my team, I am mostly taking players from winning teams and this strategy has worked this year.
After today's absolute shelling of Liriano do you still have faith his old stuff will return? I'm asking becasue he's on my squad and I'm serioualy considering dropping him to make room to bring Gallardo of my DL.

according to a friend of mine(twin's fan) he doesn't think liriano will ever be as dominate as he was in '06, but he will be very good down the road it will take some timehe thinks he should go back to the minors to get his confidence back

Jazz lose. What a play by Carl Landry to save the ball from going out of bounds and putting it right into the Rockets hands.

I can't see the Jazz losing two in a row at home, dont worry Sheik, I've adopted the Jazz as my team for the playoffs.

How can you not? They got everything, big guys, hustle guys, elite PG, big men that can shoot, reserves that should be starters on most teams. They're looking real real good.

Im not worried, I just hate when your team loses the game and not the other team beating you. We missed 13 FTs and Deron missed Boozer for a wide open layup to win the game. I did get a lame white t-shirt last night...So I guess everyone but the Spurs and Lakers are doing white-out/whatever color out at their home games.

I just read this on the wiretap and it pisses me off...

Although Oswalt has not publicly said which teams he'd consider, people close to him say he wouldn't want to pitch in the New York market and that he'd only consider the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves.

St Louis? Atlanta? But not us. Cooooooooool. What a bum.

Oswalt has always had beef with the Cubs. We've had some negative experiences with Oswalt throwing at Cub players.

Whether that effects his choices, not sure.

I just hate it when players select what teams they want to play on. I mean, if he said Braves, Phillies, DBacks, Dodgers and bunch in the AL, cool. But, going to a divisonal team? If he doesn't care about staying in the divison, he should be open to going to any of the teams, Cubs and Milwaukee included. It's just a pet peeve of mine. lol

But didn't Oswalt only have a problem with Michael Barrett? I remember when they got in a fight a few years ago after Oswalt hit him with a pitch.

Oswalt is overrated anyways. His peripheral stats have gone down every year, whoever gets him will be paying for past performance that he won't repeat.

City reviewing controversial CBOE sign at Wrigley
http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com ... ewing.html
It's been two weeks since "The Skyline" took up the subject of the bright yellow letters spelling out "CBOE" (for Chicago Board Options Exhange) on Wrigley Field's brick wall. Those letters appear to be at odds with the City of Chicago's landmark ordinance for the ballpark, which states the famous brick wall is protected from demolition or defacement "in its entirety."

I've been pestering the city's Department of Planning & Development for a response since then, and I finally heard something this afternoon.

"We reached out to the Cubs last week about the CBOE sign and asked that they submit information about it to us for our review," Peter Scales, a spokesman for the planning department, wrote in an email. "This afternoon they sent us some basic information about the sign, and it is now under review by Brian [Goeken, the city's landmarks chief] and his staff. There's not much more to say until they are done with their deliberations."

Located between the Cubs' dugout and the left-field bullpen, the CBOE letters call attention to the new section of premium seats that the Chicago Board Options Exchange won the right to sponsor this year. They're cleverly done in the same color and slightly rounded type as the distance markers on the outfield walls, as if to make you think that "CBOE" is no different from the outfield wall markers that say "368" (as in 368 feet from home plate to the wall in either left-center field or right-center field).

Tribune Co. officials maintain that the CBOE letters--which they refer to as stickers, not a sign--are no different from the signs for UnderArmour on the old green doors that are part of the outfield walls. The doors are not protected under the landmark ordinance. Tribune Co. owns both the Chicago Tribune and the Cubs.

A.J. for real, man up and pick a team, like Sheik says. We'll respect way more for it.

Didn't I make you a Hunter Pence sig? Did you hop off of that bandwagon?

your an easy target A.J. don't give us any more bullets.

^^^

He has...he went with the Angels and thats that. AJ will no longer be trolling here during astros games. I think Im to blame, I stole Hunter Pence from him and now he has been on a road of self denial since.

Anyway this is a big time for RealGMs pup, Im sure hes got prom soon and he will most likely get some ass for the first time. AJ you made the right choice. Your a man...now go spread your seed to multiple women without thinking of the consequences.

Rockets suck.

Surprisingly yes. I have seen it a few times on certain camera shots and for some reason I just don't like it. I don't like ads on the bricks anyways.

The CBOE sign bothers me a little but I'm surprised people got mad about the Under Armor signs on the doors in the outfield. I barely notice those ads when I am at the park.
The CBOE sign should be removed since CBOE is paying for the name of the section not the sign while Under Armor is actually paying for their name on the sign and anyway the Cubs can get extra money I am okay with it.

Return to Chicago Cubs
