Hawk and DJ are the worst announcers in baseball. It used to be awful to listen to Cubs/Sox games when they only put the game on 1 station. Now they put the game on 2 different stations so we can listen to our own announcers.

Bah, that's just Cub-fan hate ;). Hawk is great when paired with someone who doesn't let his ego run wild. Anyone who remembers when Tom Paciorek shared the booth can attest to that. They were a great, entertaining duo.

DJ, though, is horrendous.

I had to hear Hawk for a few innings during the Yankees-White Sox series, and it made me instantly hate him. That website that wants him canned seems to imply he's always like that.

I certainly do understand the sentiment. He really is only bearable (especially for those not accustomed to his eccentric brand of play-by-play) when paired with a more vibrant, sagacious announcer that does not allow him to take over the broadcast.

Kind of like choosing between a mob beating and a car accident.
