If BJ is out for good, we should go after Lidge

If BJ is out for any longer than a month JP should go hard after Lidge. Yes, Lidge has been shaky but maybe he just needs a change of scenery. At this point if BJ is gone we can't afford not to gamble as this season will be lost if we just go with what we have.

We can't do anything this year with out a shut down closer (esp. with our starting staff), and Lidge is the closest thing out there to this that is available for a reasonable price (other than maybe Cordero from WAS)

It's a very interesting idea, although I'm not sure what his pricetag would be. A healthy BJ and Lidge in the bullpen would be monstrous.

I read Buster Olney's blog everyday and last week he had a story on the "availability" of Brad Lidge, and the GM of the Astros appears to be turning down any calls on him. They feel he can get his confidence and stuff back as a middle relief guy and earn his way back to closer.

Why not wait to see what Fraser does? He has been better then advertised so far...I see give him 3-4 closing opportunities. But BJ and Lidge would be great...

Honestly i'd love to get lidge, if he is legitimately on the market and we could get him w/o paying an arm and a leg i would bring him aboard ASAP

I would not want Lidge, until we put him in a room with a tied up Pujols so that he can have his way with him. Pujols broke him. It's only right for Lidge to return the favor.
