Tuesday, May 6 7:05 PM ET LOSS

Fausto Carmona, RHP (3-1, 2.60)

Andy Pettitte, LHP (3-3, 3.93)
Scouting Report:
Indians: Carmona was effective in his last outing against the Mariners on Tuesday, but he was hardly efficient. He needed 103 pitches to get through 6 2/3 innings of work in which he allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits with four walks and two strikeouts. He worked himself out of some jams to avoid disaster, getting two double-play balls. Carmona is 0-0 with a 3.24 ERA in three career appearances at Yankee Stadium.
Yankees: Pettitte got off to a strong start, winning three of his first four starts. But he has struggled a bit in his last two outings. Over those two starts, losses to Cleveland and Detroit, the veteran has given up nine earned runs on 15 hits and four home runs. Pettitte hasn't pitched particularly well against Cleveland at Yankee Stadium. He is 1-4 against them in the Bronx with a 5.48 ERA in seven starts.

Cliff Lee, LHP (5-0, 0.96)

Chien-Ming Wang, RHP (6-0, 3.00)
Scouting Report:
Indians: The dilemma that comes with being Cliff Lee these days is that allowing any runs at all can be viewed as a disappointment. Lee could toss a complete game against the Yanks, allow just one run and his road ERA will still receive a noticeable rise. The next road run Lee allows will be the first this season, and he?s already made three road starts. His stretch of 27 straight scoreless innings overall came to an end Wednesday night at home against the Mariners, when he allowed three runs on eight hits with no walks and three strikeouts in six-plus innings. But it was still another strong outing from the resurrected Lee.
Yankees: Wang will be facing Cleveland for the fifth time in his career. He?s 3-1 against the Tribe after being on the top end of a 1-0 victory in Cleveland on April 27. Wang improved to 6-0 with a win over Seattle on Friday night.

Paul Byrd, RHP (1-2, 3.74)

Mike Mussina, RHP (4-3, 4.23)
Scouting Report:
Indians: Byrd was magnificent against the Mariners in his last start on May 1. He held them scoreless on just four hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings. Byrd has really turned his season around after two brutal starts to open it. He has a 1.71 ERA over his last four starts, but only one win and three no-decisions to show for it because of shaky support. Byrd is 0-2 with a 3.46 ERA in four career regular-season starts in Yankee Stadium.
Yankees: Mussina will be in quest of his fourth straight victory when he takes the mound on the final day of this homestand. He beat the Tribe in Cleveland on Saturday, working five innings and giving up two runs on seven hits. Mussina, who is 12-9 lifetime against Cleveland, has been a master of control to date this season yielding just five walks in 38 1/3 innings. His last start, his seventh, was the first in which he didn't give up a home run.
