I didn't realize West went from relatively unnoticed to borderline overrated.

I've never been a fan of Bosh's jumpshot oriented game but come on... This is Bosh easily.

West is a good player in his own right though...

I realize West's numbers are comparable to Bosh's ATM and in some cases even better, but in terms of better player its Bosh hands down. Right now hes the only "star" player on the Raptors and is carrying the team without our second best player, TJ, to an above .500 record.

Well, I know its hard to compare because West plays with better players around him, but I think almost everyone would agree that West is the better man to man defensive player.

But West is a very solid offensive player, and has a more "efficient" offensive game.

As far as rebounding goes they are pretty equal.

I don't see how anyone could say that Bosh is having a better season this year. He just flat out isn't.

Agreed.

West doesn't have a more efficient offensive game... Bosh gets to the line like a madman and converts a lot.

He's a better man to man defender, and that's really about the only thing he is better at IMO.

Every coach in the league should demand more of his defenders on Bosh then on West.
No knocking West but Bosh easy

Bosh's PER: 23.19
West's PER: 19.66

While Bosh shoots a lower percentage, he gets to the line almost twice as much, making him a more efficient scorer (54.1 TS% for Bosh compared to West's 51.8%), while scoring slightly more in slightly fewer minutes. All in all, Bosh has been the superior scorer this season hands down. Rebounding and passing the ball they're basically even, though Bosh is less turnover prone, and defensively Bosh steals the ball a bit more often while West blocks shots a bit more often (basically evening out, though a steal is statistically more productive than a block).

Bosh is slightly better in enough parts of the game to make him pretty clearly better in my opinion, particularly in terms of efficiency scoring the ball.

that is a big slap in the face to Jose Calderon. but i also agree with you implication,.... Bargnani does look like a bust, no help at all.

You would think people would give it up when even the Hornets fans are acknowledging that Bosh is clearly better.

I posted this in the other thread

ets switch Bosh and West with their teams. Bosh on Hornets West on Raptors.

Where are tha Raptors, and where are Horntets?

West cannot lead a team like Bosh DOES, the margin is pretty wide Bosh is fighting his injury and is still more efficient.

West is a good player though but Bosh hand down.

Bosh has been dealing with injuries this year. Still one of the top power forward. That injury really did make Bosh so damn rusty.

I do love West, though; every time I watch a Hornets game, I come away more impressed with West than with Paul (the latter usually being the reason I'm watching the game in the first place). West is Zach Randolph with more lift and infinitely more brains; terrific shot, adept in the post, and a very solid passer. Probably not a guy that should be carrying a team, but a perfect '1b' type of player that meshes well with virtually anyone and can lead a team in spurts.
