MOREY RECAP:

Sam Smith in Chicago doesn't know his a hole from his elbow. He say's the report is false.

Tracy is asking for another MRI. He's still in allot of pain and very frustrated.

Trading TMac is not a good idea. You will not get equal value in return.

Rockets defense was 3rd best in the league last year. We are now 4th best in the NBA on defense but the offense is worse than last year -- but will improve over time.

Brooks should have maybe played more against the Warriors. Coach wanted a veteran in there as common practice. Was worried about match up.

Steve Novak has the same skill set as Korver & Kapono and will be a contributor over time.

Yao could have a big game tonight. Celtics actually have trouble defending inside. Chuck Hayes doesn't do well against KG.
2008-09 Championship Depth Chart
1) Ben Gordon/ Aaron Brooks/ Rafer Alston
2)Tracy McGrady/ B. Barry/ V. Wafer
3) Shane Battier/ R. Artest/ C. Hayes
4) Luis Scola/C. Landry/Joey Dorsey
5) Yao/ D. Mutumbo/Sean Williams

I haven't checked the team stats in a few days so I didn't know about how quickly our defense has improved. That's the best news I've heard in a while. Hopefully we continue at this efficiency because I'm confident Coach Adelman will work on the offensive side eventually.

This team is real borderline right now. I think all it takes is one more piece and Tracy back in the lineup to get us back into contention. Perhaps a trade but theres no point in moving Mcgrady since his value is most likely at an all-time low. Let's just hope the guys we have now can keep us at .500 till T-Mac is ready.

Nick Saban: "I am not going to be the Alabama coach."

Morey had to say what he said for damage control purposes, plus Smith is typically full of sh*t and thus represents an easy target. Morey is not necessarily telling the truth.

Edit: Oh, how he phrased it also matters; "Trading McGrady is a bad idea" is a step towards trading McGrady from "We are not trading McGrady".

Morey is being politically correct, I just believe everything said cause he's right, but he put it in gentle terms.

ok what the ****, this is getting ridiculous

"He's making good progress," trainer Keith Jones said. "He's got the pain out. He's gotten stronger. We'll just take it day-to-day after tomorrow."

Agreed. Alan Iverson plays w/ broken bones and T-MAC can't play for weeks w/ a bruise

We just need to add a third scorer to our mix to play the Ginobilli role on this team and look at Tracy as our Mike Finley. We are a third scorer away from battling the Spurs for the west.

pg A Brooks -- T. Parker
sg T McGrady -- M. Finley
sf S. Battier -- B. Bowen
pf L. Scola -- F. Oberto
c Y. Ming -- T. Duncan
------------------------------------------
pg R. Alston -- J. Vaughn
sg ????????? -- M. Ginobilli
sf B. Wells -- I. Udoka
pf S. Novak -- M. Bonner
c D. Mutumbo -- F. Elson
--------------------------------------------
11. C. Hayes -- R. Horry
12. L. Head -- B. Barry
-------------------------------------------
IR:
1.C. Landry
2.
3.
------------------------------------------------

Trade Bait for a 3rd scorer:
Mike James 5.6 Mil 2 additional yrs left
Steve Francis 2.4 Mil expiring
Kirk Snyder 2.3 Mil expiring
-------------------------------------------------

Third scorer candidates:
1. Ron Artest (returns in 2 weeks; Knows the system; best defender)
2. Corey Maggette (Best slasher; Plays little defense)
3. Ricky Davis (selfish but steady production)
4. Mike Miller (No defense; Best shooter; Friends w/ T-Mac)
5. Gerald Green (wait until next summer to sign him)

Well you wanna compare nose to knee? Even if it's only bruise, it is still leg.

But it was pretty clear he is gonna do another MRI, to check.

We'll see but I hope he'll play soon.

BTW, every player plays with broken nose, not only AI

LoL yeah I mean that's why they have those face masks, to protect face injuries. Lebron wore one, Troy Murphy, and Rip stills wears it even after it healed.

Obviously Morey had to say what he did, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. If T-Mac was unhappy I guarantee it'd have a lot more publicity than just a random blurb by a dubious source. Take everything with a grain a salt, don't just believe what you want to believe.

Come on man, you know it has been way more than a nose w/ AI. He's a legend of playing w/ injuries...

Allen Iverson is one of the toughest athletes in sports. USA Today helped to legitimize that claim by naming him the No. 2 toughest athlete in professional sports in a Feb. 18, 2004 feature. The Sixers All-Star guard has been sidelined with a litany of ailments in his professional career, but has always seemed to bounce back stronger than before. Here's a breakdown, body part by body part (and this is only the list that has caused him to miss games):

Well I heard to that interviev. Of course McGrady is frustrated cause he doesn't want to have any injuries after last 2 years, even not serious injuries.

But Morey said McGrady just asked for the MRI to get sure, to see how the tendon is doin'. So it's normal, even better. The doctors said they're sure it's all about tendon and it's a painful injury. I hope he'll be back soon, on Saturday against Knicks :). We'll see Friday, there is gonna be an update.

Notice how many games Iverson missed in 03-04 with knee problems?

several posters on clutchfans have proved with facts that a deep bone bruise has kept drexler and duncan out for 2+ weeks. THE SAME INJURY TRACY HAS.

one guy also bought up a medical definition of how long a bone bruise usually takes and it is about 2 weeks.

most people here argue about tracy simply b/c of his past and his fragile body. but facts are facts. he should rest until he's healthy.

iverson is MUCH tougher than tmac no doubt. hell, he's the toughest player in the NBA in terms of fighting through injuries.

but u have to admit, his injuries are not something that's considered a "tough injury." did u see that one graphic shown in the 2001 finals that tells of all the AI's injuries?? they said he probably had 20 injuries at one point. that should tell u those are minor injuries.

like i said, drexler and duncan went out for 2 weeks with the same injury. hell, drelxer had to be taken off on a stretcher

dooooo doo doo doo doo doo doo-doo doo-doo doo-doo ...

> re: iverson v t-mac.

sixers fans might well tell you that iverson should've rested his injuries and come back healthy - especially for reg.season stuff. playoffs are another story of course, but i think if it were the playoffs t-mac would probably suit up.

Return to Houston Rockets
