New York Daily News -
There are said to be several Knicks who wouldn't mind a change of scenery, including Stephon Marbury, David Lee, Malik Rose and Eddy Curry. The Kings are reportedly considering deals for Mike Bibby and Ron Artest, who has said he would like to return home and play with the Knicks.
Tuesday, Thomas ruled out making a deal between now and the February deadline. Of course, Thomas has made a habit of denying working on moves right up until he makes them.
"I really don't foresee that," he said. "I don't see us being active around the trade deadline. This is the time when you're down and you can make mistakes that can cost you years. And everything that you've worked for the last three, four years that can set you back another three years. We've got a young group, we've got good players, and we've got good talent. We've just got to get them to play together."

For me, Balkman and Lee are the only two that could interest me or possibly Ainge if either were on the block. The one glaring cons are offense and defense depending on which one you're talking about. I'm sure there are other weaknesses that exist in their games. But, I admit that I don't watch enough of them to really be a better judge of what they can do than a Knick fan.

I never understand why a player would prefer to be on his home team. Sure you've good to great games when you return to your home state or play in front of the team you'd grew up rooting for in the area. But, unless you're James, I would prefer to do without the pressure and added stress to win games with family and friends asking for tickets and attracting the wrong kind of people which then become your entourage.
If Artest wants so badly to be a part of that mess or believes in his heart that he's good enough as a player to help turn it around. More power to him. But, Pierce is doing just find playing for a team on the east coast. But, his boy, Davis, plays for the Warriors. So I guess the home state pressure doesn't affect some.

the knicks have nothing we'd want that we could get. Lee is the only player on the knicks worth trading for with our team as we don't have the money for a curry or randolf type trade (not that we would anyway).
no way the knicks take baby and a way future first for lee from the c's, isiah will NOT trade with the c's, ever.

Players I'd be interested in on the Knicks:
David Lee
Balkman
Mardy Collins (Young PG, we need PG depth, but I think Pruitt is better)
Wilson Chandler (Young, talented player)
Fred Jones (expiring contract, adds depth)
and maybe Malik Rose (Costs a lot but only has 2 years left on his deal, he's a really good vet and he'll be an expiring next year)

That's one sad organization. Believe it or Not, I actually feel bad for Knick fans. No hope there at all.
Knicks fan here, as desperate as we may be no way that deal gets done. Lee and Balk are maybe two of the untouchables they are young and cheap and talented. Eventhough I think Balkman is untouchable he cant seem to get playing time

Players that will probably be available Curry, Marbs, Crawford, Malik, Q, maybe ever Randolph

Dude, what are you talking about? There are no untouchables on the Knicks. David Lee and Balkman? You kidding me? They are untouchable for say, Scalabrine, but you don't think they are available along with a few 1st round picks for someone like T-Mac?

And Tony is more capable on offense.
No one on the Knicks are untouchable. Thomas is the only person who's untouchable on New York. You can't fire the guy. He's Zeke the new Teflon Don. Or he has ownership in his back pocket.

David Lee's a good solid player, and I like Mardy Collins. They'd fit on the Celtics and provide a need. Not sure there's anyone else on the team that's worth trading for, considering Boston's current roster. They don't have all stars, but players with all star contracts... there's no more need for another big contract and there's no need for another player who wants the ball. The team needs another solid PG and a hustle-man big like Lee would be a good addition to any team.

I know if I was running the team they would be untouchable. They are two players that play with heart and hustle every night. The Knicks dont need Tmac right now they need to blow it up and start over from scratch.

They're FORMIDABLE. Look it up!
In all seriousness, Lee's the only guy I like. I also have a soft spot for Crawford, for some reason - but as a bench/energy guy only.
Balkman's a forward version of Tony Allen. Decent NBA player but not for this team.
