OT: Drinking before/after the Wizards game

Post#1 » by GrandAdmiralDan » Wed Jan 2, 2008 9:42 pm

Y'all know the drill by now.

Friday's home game vs. the Wizards @ 7:30pm
Meet at McGillicuddy's at 6:45pm and/or meet us back at McGillicuddy's after the game. Free shuttle bus between Water Street and BC available before/after.

I'm currently going to be picking up some $11 tickets for myself, bigkurty, and a friend of his. Let me know if you want me to pick one up for you.

Nowak has previously told me that he and blue_jeep will be there too.
BuckFan25226 still has a 100% attendance record for these things after 6 or 7 outings, so I will continue to count him in just based on precedent ;)

With the way things are going for the Bucks right now, I can understand some people not even wanting to spend any money on a ticket, but you are still welcome/encouraged to meet up with us on Water Street after the game.

Who's in?

I still think it's a good idea to drink during the game so you don't have to watch.

Since I just gave up on my AA meetings, I'll most likely be there.

Well, they do serve alcohol at the Bradley Center, albeit drastically overpriced alcohol.

I suppose I could always bring my flask in to the game, but I'm too paranoid about it getting confiscated.

I've been considering whether or not to bring some whiskey to drink after parking the car and before walking into McGillicuddy's before the game. We'll see. If the Bucks play like garbage tonight, I guarantee I will be doing that. Probably Jack Daniel's

I know they serve alcohol at the BC.

It's just that what would you rather do now? Get drunk and hit on drunk chicks at a bar or watch the Bucks?

Nooooooooo that was GAD! He's just throwing us off by having his name GrandAdmiralDan instead of GrandAdmiralDavid. I think that was Cliff Saunders wife telling GAD that he was fired from the basketball postgame show if it showed he was drunk.

I'd jump on this but will be out of town this weekend. Hopefully the next one. Also, I'm not sure what the point is of taking the bus from Water to BC. Use the pedestrian bridge on Highland over the River and its literally a 5 *maybe* 10 minute walk. Probably equivalent to taking the bus.

I would have met up with you guys on the last one if Gad's phone would have worked. I called him 3 times and got his VM right away. I did leave a message, but when he called back noone was on the other line. A shame too as I was at a bar on North Ave.

I'll have to see about this weekend. I'm still recovering from being at the bars untill 5:30 am on New Years's Eve/Day.

Then just bring an empty Dasani and fill it up with some good old Bacardi Rum. I've done that for about 50 games and have yet to get caught. Never done it for a Bucks game though, but been sneaking it in for football games. If its gets taken it gets taken.

It was cool meeting Mid last time. I thought it was weird though that he constantly muttered obscenities about Redd. Next drink is on me.

Look, I'm with you as far as being fine with just walking. In most cases I'd prefer to walk. But the bus is ok too. And some people don't want to walk. Some people have foot or ankle issues that make taking the bus preferable.

It is somewhat nice to take the bus on nights when the weather is particularly unpleasant, especially a cold wind. And not having to trudge through all that slush is a plus too.

Yeah, I didn't realize that and someone forgot to call me and tell me that.

Bah. Stupid phone...
I didn't get any missed calls from you, but it did suddenly tell me I had a voicemail which you left for me. I then left you a voicemail after BuckFan25226 told us to meet them at Sullivan's. You didn't get that one? Hmm.

Well, you'll be glad to know that I finally ordered my new phone on New Year's Eve. I doubt I'll have received it and got it set up by Friday, but it is on the way now, at long last.

Yes, the plan is now changed to Fitzgibbons before and after the game. We can go somewhere else after the post game show is over if people want to at that point.

Oh, I didn't mean it as an insult. I just noticed now you mentioned its a *free* shuttle bus, which is nice. Either way, living down here, I've become accustomed to walking pretty much everywhere... rain, snow, hot, cold :). Anyhow, have fun and I hope to join you all next time.
