I have this bad feeling that our 1st round pick will be gone

by the trading deadline. Is there any trade that Isiah had done without using any of our picks regardless if it's a 1st round pick or 2nd round pick?

It's really scary if you think about it.... :-?

Isiah has done some stupid trades.....but most people realize this after a month or so.

If he trades our 1st round pick....right away people would know the trade was stupid....Isiah is a bad GM....but not that bad.

I wouldnt be at all suprised if Isiah tries to trade it. In fact, that maybe the only way he can save his job since he needs all the imediate help he can get.

We just have to hope that Dolan realizes that he must fire Isiah by the end of the season and is resticting him from making any trades.

There is no player that Thomas can realistically get that would help right things. By realistic I mean no Lebron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Steve Nash, no Dwight Howard, etc., etc., etc. I'm pretty sure Thomas knows that. But more importantly I don't believe Thomas is allowed to trade the pick until Draft night at the earliest.

Only way I deal the first round pick is if it protected (top three) and we get back two impact players. Which wont happen, so let's dream on and hope we draft the next Michael Jordan.

While logic would agree with that, I'm not so sure the brass feels the same way. Teams that are knee-deep in their rebuilding might want to go all-out to accelerate the process. Gasol, Bibby, Artest, JO, and maybe even Wince might change addresses with a swap of cap relief and a lottery pick. I wouldn't put it past our management/ownership. The closer we get to the end of the season, and the higher our pick might be (continuing this losing record), the more comfortable I'll get about us retaining the pick.

Since when was Dwight Howard on par with Nash, Kobe, and LeBron?

Dwight Howard would put up good numbers here, but we would still suck.

If we had Kobe, LeBron, or Nash on the other hand, we would be a good team.

the only trade i do w/ a pick is

marbury, first round (top 3 protected) for joe johnson, josh smith.

it worked in nba 2k7 (w/out the pick too. hahaha)

Dwight Howard as a main part of the rebuild of the Knicks? But in any case, if the Magic were crazy enough to be willing to trade Howard to NY for any package, even one including the Knicks 1st round pick, the Knicks would have to be absolutely insane to say no.

And just in case anyone is wondering, Howard is averaging 22.9 PPG, 15.5 RPG, 2.8 BPG while shooting 61% from the field. Chances are pretty good that THAT would be better than anyone that can be had in this upcoming draft.

if isiah is still employed by the knicks by the time the nba draft rolls around, i suggest everyone either pick another team to watch or just stop watching basketball altogether.

Isiah Thomas has dementia. Because there is only 1 pick in the future to give up (unlike 3 picks to give up in the future after the Curry Trade), he would be happy to throw away picks again to keep his job.

Again, the fact that we have "only" 1 pick to give up (and not 3 before) increases the chances he throws these picks away like candy.

This demented (Please Use More Appropriate Word) thinks that these picks are merely sweeteners instead of crucial building blocks that sets back a franchise back each year a high draft pick is gone. A guy with this impatient, impulsive mentality is not fit to be a GM of a good basketball team as has been exhibited by the lousiness of this team in the last few years and also because this Knicks is a laughingstock in what seems like forever.

Well Howards numbers would be great considering how many shots we miss in a row during the course of a game. He would get 20pts and 20 rebs on offensive rebounding alone.
