Bulls @ Bobcats Postgame Thread: Noah brings the HUSTLE..

Great game by Luol, Noah, Joe, and BG.

I'm convinced that Tyrus is having a threesome with Mrs. Skiles and Mrs. Boylan. I mean even Thabo Suckalosha is getting some burn on the floor.

Wallace sucks. He can't even defend anymore in the paint. Plus he misses more at the basket shots than anyone known to man. He can't jump high enought to defend well or dunk.

What I have been saying is, you dont need to even touch Smiths minutes. He has been ballin' But him Ballin should have nothing to do with Noah or Tyrus or Noce. Instead of coaches, maning up and reducing Wallaces minutes, he actually gets more.

In reality it should have been Smith and Noah finishing that game. But the powers that be make it Wallace and whomever else is having a good game.Whether it be Noce,Noah,Smith etc. That is the problem.

And part of the problem stems from the position people are playing. For some reason, the only two people who are getting consistant play at center are Wallace and Gray. It leaves 4 people who are arguably all better than Wallace fighting for only 48 minutes (and maybe ~10 more depending on how much Wallace/Gray play).

I don't understand why Noah hasn't already become the primary backup center. He can do everything Wallace does just as good or better (except maybe man-to-man defense against some bigger centers) and while Gray has been a nice surprise, he's best used as a change of pace every once in a while. Gordon and Nocioni are already scorers, you don't need your 6th-8th men to all serve the same exact role.

Playing Noah ~13 mpg at center while reducing Wallace's minutes opens up sooo much time at PF without hurting the team at all. I don't know why it hasn't been done already

Credit needs to be given to Wallace also, though it would pain alot of people. Tonight made it four straight double figure rebounding game for Wallace..

In the past 4 games, 2.5 blks, 10.5 rebs...

I would have no problem giving credit to Wallace for good play. As soon as I see it, I will let you know.

Seriously though, go back to December, 2006. He had a 4 game stretch for Chicago where he averaged almost 10 points and 20 boards.

That's good play. Tonight, he was outrebounded by Luol Deng and (per minute) Noah. He played solid, if unspectacular defense and he finished some of the wide open shots that others created for him. I simply can't give credit for pedestrian results like that in nearly 40 minutes of play.

If anything, watching Noah tonight made me dislike Wallace even more.

Glad to see that Gordon's playing consistently well, and Noah had a big night for the situation

Gray also conintues to contribute noticably, I liked the guys game, like, instantly from when he was killing it in pre-season. Real traditional-style center's game, and makes the most of what he can do.

the bulls have gotten over 100 in each of boylans 4 games. that's a nice stat.

It's good but with the caveat that the Bucks and Knicks are in the bottom third of defenses in the league and give up over 100 a game anyway. And we had only 96 before OT vs the Magic.

Trying to get away from the Wallace thing:

Absolute great job by the Bulls creating size mismatches at the 4 position and taking advantage of it. Chicago got a lot of high percentage inside looks tonight.

Gordon looks like he is having fun out there, possibly for the first time since his rookie year.

What's up with Duhon? He was playing very well until he went to the starting lineup and then, BAM, he disappears.

Gordon going to the bench hurt Nocioni as it took away his role. Also, I hope people start seeing that a big 4 is a good idea.

Speaking of which, props to Boylan on the rotations. They were . . . logical. Noah played well so he played a lot. He got Gordon in really early. He is also trying to spoon feed Thabo minutes. Too bad Thabo keeps spitting up.

Outside of Noah/Tyrus (brief) experimentations each night, it does seem Boylan is trying to get the same players to play together during certain stretches.

He tries to get Gray in there sometime in the 2nd Quarter and always comes back with the Duhon Gordon backcourt then as well.

Late in games he had been relying on the small Noc at 4 lineup that no one likes, and I wonder if he would have done that tonight as well if not for Noah's good game. More likely he probably would have went to Joe since he was playing well too.

At least so far he hasn't done much of the dreadful Skiles stuff where you see Thabo/Duhon or Griffin/Thomas/Wallace or something like that.

With Smith & Gray being our offensive posts presences, it would be nice to see Tyrus getting easy lobs and adding even more depth to our frontcourts scoring ability...

Decent win for the bullz

Joakim Noah is a straight beast around the boards. He does great when he's around the basket. He does the little things tip in's, put backs etc.. Great game from him.

Ben Gordon- Playing consistent since going to the bench. Three point percentange going up all of a sudden. Solid play from him again.

Joe Smith- He's been solid of late with his mid-range shot. He hit some big shots in the 3rd qtr to help the bulls come back.

Luol Deng- Even though he started off slow offensively in this game he picked it up and rebounded the ball well. He was great down the strecth.

The guard play(Duhon,Hinrich) was decent the moved the ball well and got the big guys involved.

The Bulls defense is still a disaster though. I guess they have to try to get back to that. But right now their offense has been ON since Boylan took over a 100 and more pts in the last four gms.

Ah, thanks. I couldn't find this anywhere when I did shopping, and I didn't want to risk getting it and not liking it.

Definitely a cheaper price, even with the S&H. Only comes to about 98 to 99. Saves a good 10-12. See if I can get this.

Noah was great. I'm excited b/c he should get a little more burn now, but man, why was he not given the opportunity earlier?

I learned today that we must not question coaching decisions, as the coaches know more than us.

So, not playing Noah was the correct decision. And so was playing Noah.

I usually avoid saying "I told you so," but I'm just getting too much satisfaction out of the fact that playing (one of) the young bigs is the reason we won the game tonight. I'm glad Boylan finally realized his mistake after he went small and played Thabo over Tyrus/Noah earlier in the game. Hopefully he learned something. The young bigs are good and will make it easier for us to win. Hopefully Noah sees more minutes now and that doesn't mean Tyrus is glued to the bench.

Noah played well so he played a lot.

18 minutes isn't enough. I'd like to see him get 18 minutes when he's having an average night. When he puts up 17 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block vs 1 TO and 4 PFs, I'd have liked to see him play enough minutes to foul him out.

Oh well, I know I've gone off on this topic enough to make people want me to just shut up

I think this was a big win, it has nothing to do with how good the opponent is.

Everyone knows the talent is there with the Bulls, it's just getting over that "mental" hurdle. So far the Bulls are doing just that, and getting there "swagger" back in the process.


Joakim had a nice game today, but it was the Bobcats afterall.

LOL while I was reading the posts here they just showed Tyrus on The Best Damn Sports Show Top 50 plays of 2007... He was #48.
Where he blocked the shot on one end of the court, ran the floor and Duhon fed him the ball for a dunk and 1.

Gee I forgot he played for the Bulls.

BTW, One of Hester's return for a TD was #50.

They're at number 39 now.
