Why not just combine the rumors?
Milwaukee sends out Redd(to Houston), Simmons(to Houston), CV(to Sacramento, and D.Mason(to Sacramento)
Milwaukee receives -- Bibby, Battier, B.Miller
Why for Milwaukee -- The Bucks use Redd to move Simmons' contract and to a point D.Mason's contract. The Bucks pick up some smart basketball players who could help give the team some leadership. B. Miller could help teach Bogut and provides a decent backup C, Bibby is a very good PG that would allow Mo to move to SG or 6th man role, and Battier is just a good all around player.
Sacramento sends out Bibby(to Milwaukee), Artest(to Houston), B.Miller(to Milwaukee)
Sacramento receives -- McGrady, B.Wells, CV, and D.Mason
Why for Sacramento -- They get McGrady who is a top talent(when healthy), and a couple of other talented players for basically Bibby and Artest. It also allows them to dump B.Miller's contract.
Houston sends out McGrady(to Sacramento), Battier(to Milwaukee), B.Wells(to Sacramento)
Houston receives -- Redd, Artest, B.Simmons
Why for Houston -- For Houston it is a statement that they want to win a championship. They get 2 star players to surround Yao, while having to take on the contract of Simmons.

I'd say the injuries that tmac gets is worth taking the chance over watching Redd and the way he plays. Atleast Tmac plays everynight and would keep us in games. Not just becasue he can score like Redd, but he can shut down the top scorer on the opposing team if we were to get him. Redd cant do that. He would atleast get us to .500 and keep us there. Plus if redd goes and Tmac would happen to get hurt it allows more touches for Yi and Bogut.... It would benifit us if this were to happen... Plus Tmac in the East sounds pretty damn good!

Brad Miller is not going to come in and back-up a player that he is better than to teach him while he is still young and good enough to start... That is ridiculous.
I'm also pretty sure Mo doesn't want to take a back seat to Bibby... Considering they are the same type of player except Mo is a better and young version.
So we should trade for a better, but older version of Bogut and a worse, older version of Mo and then put the best two versions of the player and the bench and start the worse of the 4?
That is one of the most ridiculous and pointless things I have ever seen.

Cus' in my honest opinion, the Bucks get taken to woodshed on your proposal.

While working the phones do you hear what Redd is worth in the real world. Some here want him gone while others feel he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Do you have a feel what he could bring us in a hypothetical trade? What is a best case scenario in your mind.
Well, I wouldn't mind trading Redd either at this point, but he still seems to have more value around the league than many people here give him credit for. At the same time, some people's aspirations for what we would receive back in a Redd trade are on the other end of the spectrum and are too lofty.
The best case scenario would probably be similar to what the Sonics got for Ray Allen (along with the draft rights to Big Baby). The 5th pick in the draft, a fringe starter with a high salary like Wally Sczerbiak, and a throw in late 1st rounder who never panned out but could still turn into a decent 10th man like Delonte West. That would probably be the most value we could get for Redd himself (maybe ever so slightly more since Redd is younger than Allen).
But it all depends on the specific trade. And adding in other parts changes the dynamics of the entire trade. Are we adding in Villanueva and a lottery protected 1st round pick? Or are we instead adding in Bobby Simmons and Dan Gadzuric? Those two Redd packages would yield drastically different results, of course.

Rockets fan here, I don't know what to say, its an interesting offer, but Im not up for parting ways for Tmac. But this just seems like another Sam Smith type rumor, just a bunch of nonsense that has been made up, plus our GM was on radio saying that Tmac is happy, and all the rumors indicated by Sam Smith are false.

Maybe someone in the Bucks organization floated this rumor to gauge:
a) Will anyone who wants Redd come out of the woodwork and make an offer
b) What would the fan reaction be to a possible Redd deal
We've seen Bucks players in the past get their names floated out within a week of a deal going down....almost as a trial balloon that has complete deniability.....I wouldn't put this past them.

If Redd has great trade value, I would be one of those in the suprised category. Don't get me wrong, I like Redd and I think he is a great shooter. I just don't think he can help this team turn it around.
If we could deal him for a good SF or Vet PG (with Mo moving to SG) then I'd do it. BTW - If the player could play defense, that would be appreciated.

Bad rumour and it was never true. Michael Redd does not fit in Rick Alderman's offense because Michael Redd doesn't move the ball. If Houston trades TMac for anybody, it will be for somebody who moves the ball and fits into Rick Alderman's offense.
Ironically, if TMac buys into Rick Alderman's offense, he would be a good fit because he does move the ball (unlike Redd).

Like he would say T-mac wants out or is pissed off? Of course he's going to say T-mac is happy. If he told the truth T-mac would get even more upest and want out even more. That is if he does actually want out.
Anyway, I would do it this deal in a heartbeat. Villanueva is a career backup foward and nothing else. If you have the opportunity to bring in a superstar like T-mac, you just do it.
Bottom line, regardless of injuries or whatever other reason there is not to bring in T-mac, this city needs this.

You mean move the ball as in shoots 2+ more times then Redd a game and averages less points per game and shoots a lower percentage in every category?
Gotcha!

Yup. I've made this same point many times. The Bucks aren't likely to get an elite talent who comes with no issues or baggage. That's probably a pipe dream. If they are going to get such a player, he'll likely arrive with baggage of some kind be it injuries, playoff failures or whatever. But if you have a chance to add an elite talent - and McGrady is an elite talent - I think you have to do it.
Nothing will not break me.

I don't like this trade.
If TMac was 2 years younger and a ton healthier, then sure. But hes not. And we've seen the results of a TMac lead team in the Eastern Conference with marginal talent around him. Worst team in the league. He has the best center in the world on his team, yet they're nothing special. His numbers have been declining for 6 consecutive years now. There is no way we make the playoffs this year with TMac because of the hole we're already in.
Adding a first to this trade kills it on my end. Even if it were top-10 protected. We're a rebuilding team, we need as many sources of potential talent infusion as possible.
If the deal were altered to just TMac and Wells for Redd and CV, I'd probably do it. Primarily because, when healthy, TMac is still a better player than Redd (by a large margin) and his contract is one year shorter than Redd's. Plus, he's a name around the league, which probably keeps him tradeable to a team like the Knicks if things go wrong. Plus, the Chinese fans have kind of already adopted him as one of their own. Teaming TMac with Yi could bring in even more revenue for the team from China. Something this team clearly desires.

I don't like the trade as reported for many of the same reasons as others. TMac's inability to stay healthy, inability to win in the playoffs, and his general sulking that seems to occur at multiple destinations now (TOR, ORL, and now HOU)
Save for last year Redd is the picture of health and being positive (or so we think?)
But Redd has not led us anywhere and TMac is a superior talent. One that actually makes free agents listen to us.
If they want a first I the only way I'd do the deal is Redd/Gadz/1st (protected) for TMac and Battier. They probably balk and hang up. But I refuse to give up Redd and a first without also making them take a bad deal off our hands and giving us a starting SF
Mo/Bell
TMac/Bell/Mase
Battier/Simmons/Mase
Yi/CV
Bogut/JV
That would be a playoff team if TMac doesn't miss half the year. But I'd doubt they'd do this deal.
