Yi/Mason/Simmons/Gadzuric for Tmac/Scola.
Wouldn't do that either, I'm that high on Yi.
If TMac and Yao can't contend, there is zero chance TMac and Redd are contenders.
Bucks trading for McGrady makes zero sense on pretty much every level. Any team acquiring McGrady would be one that is right there but needs something to get over the hump. That is not us.

How about Redd/CV/Bogut/1st for Yao/Bonzi/Battier? The 1st can even be unprotected in that trade.
Houston would have Bogut/CV/TMAC/Redd/Mike James we would have Yi/Yao/Battier/Bonzi/Mo and Mo could even play some SG when he feels the need to shoot.
this would be such a downgrade for houston

The wiretap says Mighty Mouse wants to be traded from Memphis. Lets being them into the three-way with Miami. Even better...
Bucks trade: Redd, CV, Simmons, 1st
Bucks get: McGrady, Warrick, J Will, Smush (buyout)
Rockets trade: McGrady
Rockets get: Redd, 1st
Heat trade: J Will, Smush
Heat get: Mighty Mouse, Simmons
Grizzlies trade: Mighty Mouse, Warrick
Grizzlies get: CV
You can flip-flop the 1st and CV if you like...

One other thing to keep in mind here, who is going to be our SG? Simmons, Bell, Mason, or Bonzi. Not exactly a sure fire starter in there to me, and we cannot draft one because we will have no pick. It also leaves us with no backup at PF and we already basically don't have a good backup at center.
If we were close to contending I'd do this deal. We're not.

I'd start McGrady at the 2 and make Bonzi our three. Doesn't seem that hard of a decision to make.

What about the two years after that? No cap space and no pick. So it's Bell, Mason, or Simmons next year, Bell or Simmons the year after.
You also have the MLE available to you to try to fill that slot. If Ersan makes large strides as a player he may be an option as well. You certainly have a draft pick in the 09 class as well. If this deal were to go down, I don't believe our long term success would be the chief concern. I think the chief concern in making this deal is to give the fans an entertaining product out on the floor. A guy like McGrady would do wonders for the interest in this team.

How bout Redd/Simmons/CV and the 1st for T-Mac/Battier/Hayes
That seems reasonable if we are gonna give up the 1st round pic. We dump Simmons and pick up Battier who is a solid glue type guy who plays great D and hits open shots. A good locker room presence. Hayes is a undersized PF but a really good rebounder and defender who can back up Yi.
Bogut/Gadz
Yi/Hayes
Battier/Mason
T-Mac/Mason/Bell
Mo/Bell
I would love to trade Bell for Damon Stoudemire but I doubt the Griz are that stupid. Also if Mac is on our team we would need a pass first PG. I would suggest Mo Williams for Jamaal Tinsley. Tinsley is having an amazing season this year. I doubt the Pacers do this as well.

We have 3 main problems right now:
1. No perimeter defense. McGrady doesn't make a dramatic difference in that area.
2. No leaders. McGrady is not a real intense, vocal guy. He couldn't turn the Magic around from their freefall.
3. The offense is too perimeter oriented, ball dominated by Mo, and nobody makes each other better. Well, adding McGrady makes us equally perimeter oriented, if not more. He's struggling to work with Yao even. Either he's going to dominate the ball, or Mo is still here to do so.
McGrady doesn't make players better.
I don't particularly care for the deal. We'd continue to have similar problems which have ailed us this season.
You don't see how McGrady is better than Redd.
Then as Flav-a-Flav said "I can't Help you brother".
(1) McGrady is a prerennial NBA All Defensive team member. He is one of the best ball defenders in the NBA and is freakish athlete with the wingspan of a 7-footer. He is a nightmare for 2s and 3s to shake.
(2) Ha...what? THe Magic made the playoffs consistently surrounding McGrady with a fair less impressive (all things are relative) roster.
(3) McGrady goes to rim with more skill than Redd and is a better passer.
You are wrong on all three of your points.

i hate the trade . frankly , if a trade make a chinese player play with T-MAC , i say no . dont ask me the reason .
REDD+YI------->TMAC , i say yes .
if bucks and rockets do this trade , it is very possible that when yi's contract with bucks expires ,he wont go on to contract with bucks 3 yrs later . in china , fans have been divided into two camps , one love t-mac to blindness , another hate him to dead . i belong to the latter , one of the preponderant mass

You can wish for that all you want but it's not happening. ITS NOT possible for Yi to come back after three years. His handlers and everyone else will want him to stay not to mention the media capabilities with both Yao and Yi.
Plus, that's TERRIBLE value for us.

Tracy McGrady is not only NOT a perennial NBA All Defensive team member, he's actually NEVER made an NBA All Defensive team.
Not once. Not 1st team All Defensive, not 2nd team All Defensive.
He didn't get one single vote in 06-07, 05-06, 03-04, 98-99, or 97-98 for either 1st or 2nd team. In 04-05, he got 2 votes for 2nd team. For a point of reference, that season you needed at least 16 points to make it on the 2nd team. 1st teamer Ben Wallace led with 51 points. In 02-03, he got 2 votes again for 2nd team. In 01-02, he got 8 points with one first team vote. In 00-01, he got 3 points with one first team vote. And in 99-00, he got 1 2nd team vote.
97-98
