Michael Redd to the Kings?

Post#1 » by sackings916 » Fri Jan 4, 2008 4:13 am

Peter Vescey(I know) says we offered Artest for Michael Redd. I dont like it that much, as we already have Kmart at the 2, and Redd isn't a good defender. Vescey was also on NBA TV and mentioned that Garcia is breaking out and that the Kings are looking to use him as bait to get a big man.

WHAT?!?!?!?!

Did the Bucks say no, or are they thinking about it? Was it on espn, or just nba tv?

That trade doesn't make sense for us, maybe it was part of a 3 way? I can see us trading Garcia if it lands us a quality big.

Is there some kind of link or something or you just saw it in the television?

Isn't Vecsey globally recognized as a total moron?

Bingo. I seriously, seriously doubt there is any truth to this. In a league full of unreliable reporters, Vescey is undeniably the king of making crap up.

What was Vescey's reasoning?

I dont have a link, but I guess the Artest rumor was on the radio.

Isn't Vecsey globally recognized as a total moron?

I'd say he's been wrong more than he has been right but he is right sometimes. He called the Bibby-JWill trade right before it went down.

Come on. Seriously. Ron for Redd? Hilarious at best.

Frankie may be on ifre but he's not enough to get us a serious quailty big man. The lack of any name here means he was just pulling **** out his hat.

My guess is that Petrie called a friend in Milwaukie, OR to see if that friend had a Redd Foxx video and offered to send an autographed copy of Artest's CD to the friend's kids. Vescey got wind of this and morphed it into the Kings offering Artest to Milwaukee for Redd.

Seems completely plausible to me.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Well this is just as confusing as getting Ben Gordon. If true WTF Geoff!!!!???? He needs to get his head out of his arse and stop trying to get "value" over something we could actually use like cap space and youth. Maybe he is just trying to raise the value Artest has by associating his name with good legit scorers? I have no idea.

Why would we want Redd anyway? True we would have the best shooting combo (Bibby/Redd/Martin) but he is not needed in Sacramento IMO...

It would basically be the same problem we have now, only far far worse. Not enough baskeballs to go around.

This is why you have to stop believing anything Peter Vescey says. There's not always fire where there's smoke, and this is clearly Vescey just blowing smoke up our asses to sell papers.

We signed Mikki Moore to a 5 million dollar a year contract.

I don't even know anymore. If we could get a Redd level player that is an absolute steal, but I just don't get it. These moves are almost so strange they might be true with the recent moves made by Petrie. That is what scares me a little bit. Problem for me is if he is going for such highly regarded players that means no cap space and no rebuilding most likely.

But that's all irrelevant when you consider that this is completely untrue.

Peter Vescey lives in NY...go read the NY board...it's definitely something in the water there that creates insanity.

Now if we look at the Salaries Redd makes twice as much as Artest so this deal is regressing fast!
