- Bargnani's quick first step and length are better assets than his jumper.
It allows him to be an force on offense, driving to the hoop for higher percentage shots and in turn ensures that defences can't solely play him for his 3PT shot. Which in turn helps his 3PT%.
-Calderon's slowness is why he is not our #1.
Not to say that TJ is miles ahead of him at the defencesive end of the floor, but TJ's phenominal speed is a great asset as both ends of the floor.
-Andrea was the right pick at #1.
Forget that the kid can't rebound AT ALL yet, his potential is off the charts compared to other's in his draft class. What I'm saying is he is no way near his ceiling yet.

I actually agree with this statement. He seems to have a lot of respect for the Raptors. Also, he'll know what to do with Bargnani.
If you watched the ESPN broadcast it was pretty clear he doesn't like Bargnani's game at all. Unless he can get on the court himself and grab a few rebounds, I doubt he'd play Bargnani much. He's into traditional big men.

I did watch it on ESPN and yes, he doesn't like Bargnani's game right now. However, I think Hubie can give Bargnani's game some balance.
BTW, after seeing the game, I am now into tradition big centers now too. Two rebounds? Come on!
Two years from being two years away.

only thing with Bargs driving is he doesn't have the "feel" around the basket. Suffering from the same symdrome as delfino. He can jam it down. but if you need him to make any type of soft touch layups using the angle/backboard he's going to throw up a wild shot and most likely miss. That means he has a very narrow point of the backboard he needs to hit in order to score on the move, he'll find it difficult to always find that spot when there's a defender between him and the basket.

1. His first step is good, but not great. His shot IS great when his confidence is there.
2. Agreed. Against a good defensive team, our offense looks stagnant with Calderon. I like him over TJ against poor defensive teams, when our guys can get open on their on, and Calderon can distribute intelligently. But we really miss TJ's ability to break down the d against tight defensive coverage. Nobody on the floor can create their own shot except Bosh.
3. You are under-rating Roy, Aldridge and Gay. All of them have better games than this on a very regular basis. Take LMA for example - slightly worse jumper, but way more athletic, substantially quicker, better rebounder. How is Barg's potential way higher? And Roy and Gay are both going to be all-stars, whereas Bargs is far from a sure thing as an all-star.

I'd never deny that Roy, Aldridge and Gay are fantastic talents and almost surely All-Stars even this early in their careers.
And I agree that Bargs is a long way off and incredibly inconsistent.
I just think if all the stars allign for him he will be the best of the class, but once again I can't deny that it is a BIG if.

lol Did I say Orlando would accept?
I just said I would do it if I was the Raps.
You can't trade D-12 or Lebron for anyone at this point.
If you even showed that offer to Orlando they would laugh in your face. To get Dwight..that trade would involve Bosh and Bargs and picks and maybe even Calderon....+ Dixon and Joey....(Sorry I had to toss that in there)

Barg's was creating his own shot last night. Didn't you watch the game? And you are over rating Roy, Aldridge, and Gay. Especially Gay and Aldridge- they disappear many times and it's not like they're not getting the minutes. I see Roy as a real good player but with a limited career as his style of play will wear down his body( which many teams passed on because he hes bad knees). He's like a poor man's wade. And where is Wade right now? Struggling with the worst team in the east and injuries every other month.

Here is the thing with Calderon. When the opposition guard faces up on him, he struggles to defend. But when the opposing guard faces back in a post up situation, it seems like he is able to hold his own because of his similar size with the opposing pg.
On the other hand, with TJ Ford, when opposing guards post him up, he struggles because of his lack of size. But when the opposing guard faces up, he is able to hold his own due to his quickness.
Pay attention to this and you will find that it holds true most of the time. There aren't that many pgs in the NBA that can and like to post up, which favors TJ Ford on the defensive end.

Ahhh I did watch the ESPN feed and Hubie Brown was all but lickin Bargnani's sack nad praising him for being one of the few Raptors who actually made an effort to do what the coach was telling the team to do.
