Culture of losing is an useful concept. I believe it was created last season during the front office's choice to tank the season by holding out for minor cause key players (in an attempt to get a higher draft choice). Here was a team that was coming together before abnormal injuries occured and then when the key injured players reemerged were getting closer to winning ( they were still losing, but the margins were becoming razor thin). It was a young team that needed to regain the sense of being winners or a culture of winning. But the front office decided that a higher draft choice would be more important than building a culture of winning at the end of last season. It appears the front office was very wrong and a culture of losing was built.

Finally, this is not hindsight on my part,as I said something similiar when so many were applauding the front office's tanking strategy.

Correct.

We have a starting PG who should be a 6th man.

We have a starting SG who would be a great #2 option on a team, but insists upon being the #1 option and plays lousy defense

We have no SF. None.

We have a rookie PF who on a decent team would be playing 20 mpg off of the bench.

We have a C who is average at best, because he has no post game on offense.

We have no leadership.

We have no bench.

That's about it, folks. That's a formula that produces 25 wins at best.

Totally agree. A team should never ever take winning for granted, losing becomes a habit and can be hard to break, particularly with such a young team. Likewise with a young team if they start winning that enthusiasm can be very difficult to stop, with Portland the prime example.

CV has to start, Yi is bringing very little and has been before and after his 29.

The T-Mac that has never won a playoff series and been overrated his entire career? The T-Mac that is oft-injured? The T-Mac that has teams improve once he leaves them?

The Bogut lovers on here blame his supporting cast.

The Redd lovers on here blame his supporting cast.

The Mo lovers on here blame his supporting cast.

The Nation of China blames Yi's problems on his supporting cast.

We've obviously got FOUR F-ING all-stars whose hidden all-star talent is just being held back but for a supporting cast. The bottom line is all of these guys SUCK relative to the skill level of what is needed to be a good NBA team.

Yep. In addition to our team/players sucking now, I'll keep repeating the fact that even our young talent or prospects compare pretty unfavorably to other **** teams... its not a good thing when two of your "core" pieces project to just be slightly above average starters (Bogut and Mo).

If Yi's 24, things are even worse. :banghead:

They're both already slightly above average, i hope they project to be better than that, or we're totally screwed.

I understand what you are saying but me personally I don't play favorites with anybody I call em like I see em and im a Bucks fan not a fan of individual players.

I been posting on this board almost 5 years and anyone who has read my posts should know that.

The only interest I have in individual players that play for the Milwaukee Bucks is if they can help the Milwaukee Bucks win basketball games.

Do I support Bogut because I think hes a cool guy? Nope.

Do I support Bogut because im dilusional and think hes Tim Duncan being held back by a poor supporting cast? Nope and I'd laugh at people who would think that I would think that.

I support Andrew Bogut because I feel he is one of the few guys on the roster that can help the Milwaukee Bucks WIN BASKETBALL GAMES.

I also support Bogut because he is one of the few guys who plays with some heart and one of the few guys who actually seems to get bothered by losing night after night.

I guess the question is, how many more of these embarassment's before something is done, either trade, fire LH, or whatever? The organization really cannot do nothing when the players are clearly not giving full effort on the court.

I don't think I've ever seen a team basically give up before the midpoint of the season, but that is what we are witnessing.

I had to root for THIS f'ing team....

.....when the team was 7-4 this year there was no losing culture....we just don't have any talent. The losing culture existed long before the tank job last year.....it emanates from the top.

I really get the feeling that this team is going to get blown up, and if that's going to happen I think that it would make sense to put the new G.M. into place before those moves are made.

The one thing that would really piss me off at this point would be to make some sort of attempt at a band aid SF. I don't want to see the Bucks giving up any tradeable assets for anything other than long-term moves.

Sparky is repeatedly bringing up Kohl's lawyers running the team tonight. For those of you who wanted him to bring that up more often, you are getting your wish.

Agreed entirely, and at this point outside of Yi and Bogut, I'd move anyone for the RIGHT DEAL, would take on ZERO long term deals, and look to add picks, preferrably picks that will be likely lottery picks. If I'm moving Redd I'm looking for a solid young guy and/picks, and if you can attach Simmons or Gadz to that deal (unlikely I know) all the better.

With Kohl/Harris barely speaking and the team playing this poorly on a near nightly basis now, won't be shocked to see LH gone shortly.

But I agree with Hunt's column, build around Yi/Bogut and blow the rest up, for better, for worse.

Is Bogut too dumb to learn things, or has Coach K been doing a bad job teaching him over the past two years? Or a combination? Is it fair to evaluate Coach K based on the progress his big men have made over the past couple years, and on the record the team has achieved so far this year? Can we give him an F- on both accounts?

Larry Harris has had an impossible task all along, and has had some trades for allstars vetoed for no apparent reason. Still, the team we watched tonight - he signed his name to paper on these deals. If the Bucks were a public company, we could use SarbOx to sue him.

I love Mo and think he's a key building block IF we go young, but it's clear he can't be a #1 option type point guard like Arenas/Iverson/Wade can. The double team flusters him and takes him out of his game.

I think we will get our lotto pick no matter what, so we don't need to debate whether to tank. Still, it's January, and the team really needs to give us some reason to watch the rest of the season. How can they do it?

The 7-4 was probably fools' gold, related heavily on the home court and relative rest between games (as I alluded to at the time).

I do agree that at least a culture of mediocrity has been within this franchise for quite awhile. I don't think, however, a culture of losing has been. And it did not exist until the tanking decision. Before that even with key players out the Bucks thought they would get back into the running. unfortunately they lost some close games when Redd returned and that probably lead to the choice of the front office to tank.

Everyone says build around Bogut/Yi, and everyone else is untouchable, but there really is no reason Bogut should be untouchable. He isn't an impact player, just a solid role player. There's no reason we have to put him on the trading block and look for a trade, but I sure would consider offers.

If a team wanted to offer a young player who can actually play basketball for Bogut, I'd make the trade in a hurry. Guys from '04 and later that I would trade Bogut for: Howard, Okafor, Deng, Iguodala, Jefferson, Smith, D.Williams, Paul, Bynum, Aldridge, Roy, Gay, Oden, Durant, Horford, Conley. That's 16 players from the last 4 drafts that we could not get for our #1 pick even if we wanted to (and we do want to, trust me).
