Is East better or worse this year?

Post#1 » by girlygirl » Sat Jan 5, 2008 12:51 am

Comparing the records of the Eastern Conf. teams right now to where they were at the same point last saeason, I would argue that the conference may actually be worse overall than it was in 2006-07.

Look at this comparison of the team

Better. The Bulls may get better with their upcoming easy schedule. Miami should get somewhat better as well.

I say its worse because the teams that were supposed to be good pretty much all suck except for the top 3. This was asked during last nights game and Collins said it was worse if that counts for anything . . .

Worse. Everyone except Boston and Detroit wouldn't make the playoffs in the west. Eh, maybe the magic would.

It's probably about the same. Or minimally better.

At the beginning of the year people were dumbfounded by the Bulls play and we frequently pointed to the conference getting tougher as an excuse. i.e. "The conference got tougher but we stayed the same, so we look worse."

Now I think it might not be that so much as,

"The conference stayed the same but we got worse."

Put this Bulls team in last year's league and we would lose more games there too. We have regressed. The conference doesn't have that much to do with it.

I think better because Boston is just handing out extra loses and if you look at the teams with worse records, a lot of the difference is understandable of example like Washignton.
