To me it depends on how the season progresses. If the blazers go back to playing .500 and barely squeak in then they are done in 4. If this good play is more than just a lucky stretch and we get a 345 seed then Im not afraid of anyone outside of SA.

As for DEN, you can make all the excuses you want corona, but we came into your house and beat you good without aldridge. I suppose the fire in the locker room was the problem that game huh? The second win is more questionable but I think we win anyways even with you guys healthy. But Im a homer of course. In the playoffs who knows. If we have homecourt over you though I take the blazers everyday.

As of right now the blazers easily have the jazz numbers, but im not sure weather they can beat any other teams. Only time will tell.

I think Oden's injury was a blessing in disguise for the Blazers. The team as a whole got much better. Roy and Aldridge are showing that they are studs and guys like Webster and Outlaw are doing quite well. Imagine this lineup next year.

PG Jack
SG Roy
SF Webster
PF Aldridge
C Oden

That lineup should be able to get a top 3 seed out west and the following year in 2010 that will be the top dog out west and in my mind will be the team that ends the Spurs dynasty.

the problem with the blazers this year as far as playoff basketball is concerned is their lack of good post play. pryzbilla is ok at best and aldridge is a fairly soft pf/c. portland doesn't have a legit banger inside until they get oden back and you need that in the playoffs if you want any kind of success.

The only thing wrong with this staement is the recent success of PHX and GS. Neither of them have truly great post play from the PF/C pos. Both have had limited success in the playoffs. Can the Blazers win it all, of course not, that isnt even remotely possible. This question is more like that scene from Dumb and Dumber. It may be a one in a million chance for them to win a playoff series but its still a chance.

0-0 vs lakers, but matchup fairly well with them
1-0 vs golden state
2-1 vs NO
0-1 vs Houston
2-1 vs Utah
2-1 vs Denver

You roll your eyes all you want, but they've played well against good teams.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Phoenix can at least score in the post with Amare and Matrix.

And the W's are an anomaly becuase Im not sure what sport they play, but its not basketball, and that really **** with other teams heads.

Granted I dont see the Blazers playing any of these teams even if they DO make it into the playoffs, but name me one of those teams that has a winning record against the Blazers other than Houston who beat us the second game of the season. The Lakers and Blazers havent played yet

Edit: Apparently Farzi already decided to post up the records to reflect my statement

This thread is premature. The Blazers aren't even going to make the playoffs.

I can see Blazers only beating GSW in the playoffs. Blazers might force game 7 against Utah/LA/Houston.

SA would sweep the Blazers.
Suns would beat them in five.
Dallas in six.
Denver in six.

You have to have some sort of low post presence in the playoffs. Portland simply doesn't have that this year. Not to mention Portland simply lives and dies with the jumper and 5 year olds could out rebound Portland.

And how many of those wins were on the road?

2.

And one of your wins against the nuggets, was an at home win with the nugegts starting Jelani Mccoy and Linas Kleiza...and you only won by 3.

First learn how to win on the road. Then learn how score inside the paint. Then get playoff experience. Then you can be considered a legit thread.

Oh an anyone thinking that the Blazers can even get to six games against Utah, Lakers or New Orleans is simply deluding themselves. These are not bad teams, in fact, they are great teams. New Orleans and the Lakers have both destoryed top tier teams and Utah is rounding into form.

The Blazers have taken advantage of home court, but can't sustain play on the road. They are 3 years away from truly competing.

Outlaw is only a slightly above average scorer. Webster I would say is below average, especially of late. Frye is below average (though he has teh potential to be a good offensive player). Jack is average.

I think Bell is a very tough defensive matchup for Roy. Marion is also a tough matchup for Aldridge.

I just have a hard time seeing a veteran, savvy team like the Suns losing to a young team with no post presence.

The blazers dont have a prayer against a team like SA, or PHX.. They play Dallas very well and they play Denver and NO very tough as well. But this is regular season, and this team is young. Do I think Portland can beat any of them in the playoffs? MAYBE Denver, but thats about it, and theres virtually no chance of that being a 1st rd matchup. They could take MAYBE 2 games from Dallas and NO, and would probably be swept by SA and PHX.

They are too young to compete against the top 4 teams in the west. They have no rebounding ability without Oden. Hopefully next year with another year under their belts, along with Rudy Fernandez and Oden coming in, they might be able to make some real noise in the playoffs. But this year theres no chance, even if they DO make the playoffs, that they win more than 2 games at the very best.
