Is Michael Redd An All-Star?

Does Redd deserve to be on the all-star team this year? Sure he's putting up decent numbers of 23/5/4 but his team stinks. So do you think he deserves to get in like Joe Johnson did last year?

his team is one of the worst teams in the conference..it isn't like he's putting up numbers better than all of his competition..and he isn't playing like he's better than all of his competition..

you would have to stand out to make an all-star team with such a poor team..

Why should Redd be in the all-star game? His numbers are a LITTLE better than those aforementioned guys. But, your team stinks. It's horrible. And besides, Redd is too one dimensional for my liking. You can throw the numbers if you want, but if you want to go by numbers, then Kobe should be MVP every single year. So far, Kidd, Billups, Pierce, Carter have clearly outplayed Michael Redd this year. i dont think redd is an all star but i've always found the voiding of good stats on bad teams to be a flaw statement.

I don't think people are voiding the stats of good players on bad teams so much as they are giving even more value to the stats of good players on good teams, and that's legit. Allen has been phenomenal for the Celtics this season on BOTH sides of the ball (yes, he's even been phenomenal defensively). In fact, if you look at things from a defensive standpoint Redd is the worst player on that list; as a complete package Redd lags behind those other players. The Celtics play a far more defensive-minded brand of basketball and it should come as no surprise that they shoot a slightly lower percentage. And I don't think Ray Allen is really deserving of an allstar birth at this point, either, given the depth of guards in the eastern conference.

To be an allstar you have to do something that makes you stand out from the competition. Redd's numbers aren't far and away better than his competition's and his team is much worse. That's pretty much all there is to it. There can be allstars on bad teams but they usually stand out statistically, have a more well-rounded game and have at least some history of playing for more competitive teams to the extent that you can really tell that the supporting cast around them are terrible (see the TWolves, who pretty much have Garnett's and Pierce's supporting cast of the past few seasons). Redd's still an excellent player, he just isn't deserving of an allstar birth this season.

I hope even most Bucks fans realize Redd isn't an all-star this year. I certainly do.

If a player is putting up good numbers with reasonably good efficiency, then he deserves to be an All-Star. Yes, there are exceptions to the rule, as there are exceptions to every rule, but Redd isn't one of these. He's doing everything in his power to make the Bucks as good as possible, and his stellar numbers shouldn't be counted against him because he's been dealt a bum hand.

All in my opinion, of course.

Allen DOES NOT deserve an All-Star bid over Redd this season IMO. The guy is a third option putting up 18 4 and 3 on under 42% shooting. Hardly impressive IMO.

Im a Bucks fan and I voted No. He's not an allstar this year. He is a damn good player but there are too many better shooting guards in the Eastern Conference right now.

Out of that group you have to pick Bosh for some more depth at PF/C. Then Billups has to make it to rep the Pistons. Then Jefferson has really stepped up his game this year.

After that I couldn't honestly say any one player is doing all that better than any of the competition...........

Absolutely not... same argument was used against Kevin Martin at the beginning on the year, but the Bucks are worse with alot more talent
