Portland Trailblazers= Playoffs?

Post#1 » by Mrhankey123 » Sun Jan 6, 2008 4:42 am

Could they possibly make the playoffs this year? Even with Roy out they are playing soo good against Utah right now on Raps TV. The atmosphere there is awesome too. Reminds me of the fans when the raps were in the playoffs. Could they be last years Raptors?(Of how they improve by alot)

They are playing great basketball and could make the playoffs but once playoff time rolls around this team is going to lose. They really won't be able to play west playoff basketball.

I'm a huge Jerry Sloan backer, hope not. I love Byron Scott in NO too.

They're already a better team than us, imagine when they get Oden next year....

I would but it's late and I don't want to have nightmares of Oden posterizing Bargs :(

portland is really scary if oden is o.k. (most likely).

i don't know what it but it seems good that portland has a winning team... they seem to have great fans. nice city too.

God-damn I can't believe they beat down Utah the way they did even without their best player, Brandon Roy. The Blazers have been playing the best team basketball in the NBA, everytime I keep telling myself they'll come back down to earth sooner or later but I think this team might be for real. If they were in the East they could very well be the 3rd seed right now.

Portland is loaded with talent for the future, but i think they're playing over their heads here. They'll cool down soon.

I don't think we should be worrying about Portland 'till we're facing them in the finals.

My prediction for the west:

1 - SA
2- Phoenix
3 - Utah
4 - Dallas
5 - NO
6 - Denver
7 - Lakers
8 - Portland

With GS as the only other team I see displacing any of these teams. MAYBE Houston can make it too, but I see them finishing 9th - 10th.

Personally, I'd rather have a legit chance at drafting a Rose-esque player, like they had at the start of the year, than make it 8th seed.

PG: Rose
SG: Roy
SF: ____________
PF: Aldridge
C: Oden

Their bench is also rather deep.

*Sigh*. . .

no. they've had a real easy schedule( with about only four wins on the road) and they're playing over their heads.

By how alot of teams have improved, I have this feeling that either we wont make the playoffs or we will lose in the first round.

I'm glad we play in the East. Damn the West is deep!

Oh, and yes, I think they're playing over their heads, but they're for real. This is going to be a scary team in a couple of years. As Phx, SA and Dal get older, Hornets, Blazers and Jazz will fill the gap. Not sure how the Lakers will fit in: Kobe's getting older but Bynum's just getting started.

Hopefully they make the playoffs. The last thing we need is them to get another great player from the draft. With Oden and Rudy coming over next year they'll just keep getting better and better.

Portland is playing great basketball right now. But as the season progresses then I think they'll slow down and hover near the .500 mark. With the 8th seed, I see Golden State taking it. Houstons flat out garbage...they won't make the playoffs. IF they do, they'll get knocked out in the 1st round.
