Utah is not trading our best defender for Michael Redd. That hurts us more than it helps us.

Utah gives up too much IMO and things like trading first round picks 3 years from now are generally not good ideas.

I think if just Redd for AK47 was on the table, the Bucks would consider it. I was for this trade this off-season when more Utah fans were and it had more of a possibility of going down. Back then there were many Jazz fans who thought AK47/Brewer for Redd was fair.

Unfortunately now that is a dream trade for the Bucks.

Yes he is. He's being paid superstar money when he's not a superstar and our teams have been mediocre at best when he's been alpha dog.

No he's not. Redd is a Superstar. Folks like you just will not give him credit. Heck man, one player is not going to win anything for you if everybody else on the team is shooting bricks That's all right. Just ship Redd some place else and watch it explode right in your face again!. Talk about a long long rebuilding process. Hell, no one will want to play in Brew City with that Whiny arse back stabbing every chance he gets.

On what planet is Redd a superstar? He is not Duncan, Wade, LeBron, Howard etc. THOSE players are superstars. And one player led his team to the Finals last year with a bunch of scrubs.

The Pistons wouldn't do that.

For Redd

Do the Bulls really need yet another perimeter player? Especially one with 4 big years left on his contract?

Bernman wrote:Honestly, what business do Knick, Heat, and Cavs' fans have in a trade proposal involving a player of value? None. Unless you want to make suggestions about what other teams could do. Then don't follow up your garbage trade proposals with rationalizations about why your offers were reasonable. If Redd is such a crappy player, why are you feverishly trying to dream up deals to acquire him?

Feverishly? One guy from each team has proposed trades that are hardly knee bucklers for the guy.

You know, the U.S. national team seemed to think Redd was very important piece to their puzzle. His shooting by the same token makes him an immense asset to some NBA teams.

When did the NBA change their rules to match international play (aka why they needed Redd or anyone that can shoot the ball)?

In the Bucks' case, they might be willing to trade him because they have more pressing issues at other positions, which compensation for a player of his value might rectify.

Dude...they might be willing to trade him because he's got a big contract, he'll be 30 next season and he hasn't been able to take them anywhere in recent memory. Doesn't mean that he's not an excellent player but the reason they are trading him is because he's expensive and doesn't fit where they are at.

However, they are nowhere near desperate to unload him just because their struggling. Trading Maurice Williams is another option, and the more prudent one in my opinion. He makes Michael Redd look like Bruce Bowen on defense. And it's far worse to have a point guard penetrate your defense, than a shooting guard, because he can shoot or pass. The trade isn't mandated to involve your absolute best player.

And enough with your protected picks. Mid first rounders, at best, are not compelling anybody to make a deal. Trading picks for an all star or borderline all star, should be a gamble. Ideally, he's a missing piece, and improves your team enough to where giving up a first rounder wouldn't be any sweat off your back. If you don't think he's a difference maker at all, why are you trading for him?

So only difference makers are ever traded? People see him as a solid addition, for varying reasons. And to be honest, he's not a fit for some of the teams that have made proposals to acquire him.

This whole thread is one crappy deal after another. The only trade I've seen worth discussing was the original Bulls' trade involving Nocioni. And that would be just a jumping off point. I've seen other Bulls' fans with reasonable trade proposals on the Bucks' board as well. That's because a deal between the two teams actually makes sense, unlike some others. The Bulls need offense, while the Bucks need defense.

The Bulls need post offense...which is not something the Bucks have. The Bucks need perimeter defense...which is not something the Bulls have.

The Bulls have a bunch of players with value who are redundant to their team. Nocioni + J. Smith + Sefolosha + a 1st rounder (unprotected) for Redd, would probably be more of a reasonably type deal.

Why would the Bulls need yet another perimeter offensive player when their top 3 scorers are all perimeter oriented players?

He'd be interesting on the W's but his price tag makes it impossible.
