I'm so proud of this team right now! They are better at this point then I would have ever imagined; however there are a few concerns that I have about the team.
1) Nothing new here, but we need a backup PG. It is troubling to see Tony Allen or Eddie House handling the ball under pressure. They had some bad turnovers last night, and I am very uncomfortable watching them running the offense.
2) Perkins has some of the worst hands in the game. This guy has a serious case of butter fingers. It seems like he is never in the game for the final minutes which shows that he is just not cutting it. At times, he has trouble controlling his body which leads to many fouls and awkward offensive shots!
3) This final one is disturbing to me! Doc Rivers, who I think has done a great job this year, barked at the ref way too much last night and got a technical foul. We all knew that this game was going to be very close, and 1 point could make or break the game. I think he should smarten up and say what he has to then back off. There is no reason to cause your team points out of anger. You preach to your team about keeping their composure and you have trouble doing it yourself.

I actually think that Doc's technical was a great move. I strongly feel that the best way to keep a team under control is to have that team know that the coach will defend them. It's easier for Doc to say "you worry about playing and I'll worry about the refs" when he shows he's willing to take the technical in order to defend his players. I'd much rather have Doc get one T and control his team, then have a game where the entire team is getting t'd up because of arguing calls.

1. I think we are going to sign one before the playoffs but there is no need to do it now.
2. Perk had a great game yesterday. Great defense and rebounding, that is why he is in there. He will never be a good scorer although I would go to him more when he is guarded by a smaller player. He has a nice hook shot and fadeaway jumper. Nontheless another veteran big is needed for the playoffs.
3. I disagree. Refs made some terrible calls and I thought it was good to see that Doc put some pressure on them! He needs to do that when refs aren`t doing their job. I rather see him yelling at the refs than the players...

Do you know how hard it is to be an NBA referee. The officiating wasn't THAT bad last night. About average. It was also called just about even. No complaining here, imo.

1- I'm not too concerned about it, while it's scary the fact is it didn't cause us any trouble last night. Meanwhile, having TA or House out there brings a lot on defense or offense. If we bring in someone else and sit those guys, I think we lose more than we gain.

I don't think this is going to change. OTOH he does bring a lot of D and shotblocking. Detroit is just a bad matchup for him, with two mobile big men who can shoot from the outside.

You never know, but having someone in your ear the whole game might have an effect. Overall I thought the game was pretty even, there were the usual bad calls both ways. Some of the worst calls went against us (like the one Doc and perk got T'd up for) but overall probably more calls went for us.

1. While I too am worried about our ball handling, things aren't as simple as getting a ball handler b/c ultimately we would be getting all of said ball handlers other warts as well which could mess up a good thing. Damon stoudamire seeems like a guy in theory to bring in but I think in practice would hurt the team. In short I agree with Particleman on this one.
2. Agree with PM on this one too. His hands are good its the coordination, ball handling, and explosiveness that hold him back. That being said he has made a lot of progress in his post moves IMO.
3. With PM on this one too. I thought this on one of those situations Doc needed to be forceful b/c the calls weren't so much bad as inconsistant. It was a tough game to officaiate since it was so physical. At the end of the day our rookie was getting foul calls on one of the best defenders in the league on the opponent court so its hard to complain.

As far as Doc barking at the refs, he has told the team not to react to bad calls and that he will do the reacting. Players barking at the refs takes their heads out of the game. Doc may be doing it just to let the players know he is backing them up since the refs were clearly missing a lot of contact on the Celtics and calling the Celtics for phantom fouls.
