Game Thread: Seattle Supersonics @ Washington Wizards

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Sun Jan 6, 2008 12:43 pm

After blowing a huge lead against the Phoenix Suns and losing that game, the Sonics will try to regroup and head into the nations capitol to play former Sonic Antonio Daniels and his Washington Wizards.

Daniels will be the starting pg of the Wizards, because they'll miss their best player, Gilbert Arenas, due to knee surgery.

When and Where?

Sunday, January 6th, 10:00 a. m. PT, Verizon Center, Washington, D.C.

Will we be able to limit Jamison and Butler?
What kind of production will our pg's give us?
Can Thomas and Collison win the battle on the boards?

Unfortunately the game isn't on TV which stinks because Wilcox, Durant and Green are all from the DC area. So I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those guys go off.

I think the Sonics have pretty good odds with this game since Agent Zero is down. Hopefully Green can contain Butler. I do like Blantche, every time he has played the Sonics he has impressed me for a young big.

Go Sonics!

Oh and I'd like to toss this picture in for nostalgia.

Here's a nice link about the Sonics and Bullets/Wizards being forever linked.

he had a nice set of moves on the left block early, but couldnt finish the shot. he seems to do that a lot, he sells the move and seems suprised by how open he is and just blows the shot.

collison active early on the glass.

durant taking it to the rim but cant finish.

defensivley butler is going by guys baseline and on the wing. he burned both rookies early on.

ok, got the laptop out now so i dont have to run back and forth to the office. my wife thinks i could use the excercise, i do not agree.

anyway....collisson and green in early foul trouble. watson shooting a little to much. wiz runining the supes off the floor right now. daniels, butler, and jamison are really active and agressive.

I love it when Wally is on fire, put Durant back in and let him operate now that he has some room.

Delonte! Nice dunk.

What's the point of defensive substitutions if you leave Wally Z in the game on Caron Butler?

sonics doing a good job of walking down the wiz right now. however, they need to keep attacking the basket and not settle for jumpers.
they have to come out strong in the third, probably cant afford to get down by double digits again.

i was thinking the same thing wiff. did you see kd yelling at wally for blowing coverage on butler?

daniels is one of the biggest floppers in the league. he looked like he caught a round house kick from chuck norris on that call against green.

The Wizards announcers know nothing about the Sonics.

^Thanks! Wow, I hope we don't lose our heads in the 4th..this looks like it's going to be an exciting finish.

How is Antonio Daniels playing? Good enough to make us really miss what he brings to a team?
