Could we get Bynum for Deng?

People gave me crap last year for proposing BG for Bynum.

Bynum has become a breakout star this season. The Lakers aren't trading him at all, let alone for Deng. Kobe may have ripped Bynum over the offseason, but he LOVES him right now.

Because Kidd is 34 and Deng is 22. That's pretty obvious. Deng has a lot more value than kidd.

wow.... the only reason it's hard to trade Kidd is his contract and most of the good teams don't have the salary space.

Not true. It depends on the team. To teams like Dallas or Denver, J. Kidd has more value than Deng. They want a championship now and are set at small forward.

To teams like Miami or Minnesota, who are presumably trying to get younger for the future, Deng has infinitely more value than Jason Kidd.

I think Miami would take Kidd over Deng . A back court of Wade and Kidd is still good enough to win the Championship

I'm with the posters who say that the Lakers would never do Bynum for Deng. It'd be insane. He recently turned 20 friggin' years old, he's huge, and he's a legitimate threat to put up 18/12/3 inside of a year or two. Outside of Dwight Howard there's no young big man who I would take over Bynum, not even Al Jefferson (although that might be close). Can't comment on Oden b/c we haven't seen him yet.

And while I like Deng a lot, SF is generally the easiest position at which to get a quality player. Center is probably the hardest.

In short, forget about it. But if the Lakers were to come calling, we would grab the deal lickety-split before Kupchak could sober up.

Bynum is untouchable out there. They have made that quite clear by their actions. Point being: They told Kobe to shove it when it came him and trades. Now Kobe is eating his requests.

The kid is good and is only getting better. Should be one of the better big man real soon.

Kidd's already slowed down a ton. I doubt he has more than 2 seasons after this one of quality play in the NBA. Deng is 23. The only team that would take Kidd over Deng right now is one that needs a PG to win a title this year. In 2 years, there won't be a team in the NBA who'd take Kidd over Deng.

100% correct. Last season we might have been able to do it but definitely not now. Great big men are really valuable.

They are third in the NBA in points per game behind only Phoenix and GS. You are right in thinking that scoring isn't a big problem for them.

I didn't read the first 2 pages of this thread, but whoever thinks the Lakers would be willing to trade us Bynum for Deng needs to pass along some of the stuff they're smokin'.

I seriously doubt they'd even take any "package" of players we could offer for him. Salary aside, maybe, and I say maybe, they'd take Deng, Noah, TT and Noc and even that's a big if.

This kid has a chance to be THAT good.

The only player the Lakers wanted is now in Boston and any player they still want, the other teams won't trade(Dwight, Lebron, Wade, Deron, Paul)

I wouldn't trade Bynum anything less than Dwight or Lebron, no way would the Lakers trade Bynum for those 3rd tier stars (Wade, Deron)..

Chris Paul is a top10 player but I wouldn't trade a dominant big for a pg.

Laker fan here, there isnt too many players out there we would trade Bynum for and deng is not one of them. But you guys have a really talented squad. I would love to see Deng or TT in Purple and Gold, but not at the expense of Bynum. How about Odom and Farmar for Deng and TT?
