Obviously a game the Bulls have to win at this point in the season.

Its a home game.

The Bulls will be coming off 2 full days of rest.

The Knicks have lost 8 in a row.

Curry and/or Randolph are having a bad game every night. They aren't meshing at all (who could have predicted that?).

And most importantly: The Bulls are way, way better.


Win the game, move to 5-2 under Boylan, enjoy your 2 more days of rest, and get ready for an important 4 game road trip.

didnt the knicks break their 8 game losing streak against the bulls in the 1st meeting?
lets hope history doesnt repeat itself.
the bulls, like you said, are the better team. by far, imo.
this is a must win. (even if the kids get the majority of playing time)

I really would like to see Noah & Thomas play alongside each other for an extended period of time against New York. Their interior defense is horrible, so I'm guessing Both Tyrus & Joakim could produce some nice offensive stats.

I actually think Aaron Gray is the better matchup here to take advantage of Curry/Randolph. I'd expect to see him get some good run, which means that either Noah or Thomas won't.

I agree that Gray might be the more suitable match-up. But we really, really need to see Joakim & Tyrus out there for extended minutes. They're expected to be our future starting C & PF. Besides, it's New York.

With Deng out, Nocioni will get a lot of his minutes at the 3 which will open up plenty of minutes between the 4 and 5.

Well, maybe not plenty, but plenty in comparison to what the young guys are used to getting.

Good point Cliff. I overlooked that. Do we know for sure that Deng isn't playing?

I think they should rest him regardless. Following the Knicks' game, the Bulls don't play again until Friday. That will have given Deng a week off.

I would rather rest Deng AND only 24 minutes for both Wallace and Smith.

treat this game as a preseason and let the young guys play more.

The Knicks are a good rebounding team. Last time we faced them, Ben Wallace was getting murdered on the glass by Eddy Curry of all people.

Not that he will, but Cliff Levingston hopes that Boylan isn't afraid to rely on some good athletic guys like Tyrus and Noah to clean the glass for us.

And yeah, I'd expect Thabo to get a stint in each half. Especially with Duhon struggling with his shot.

I think this is the worst case matchup for Gray. Curry is basically like Gray but bigger, stronger, and quicker. I'd rather throw Noah out there and watch him out sprint Eddy down the court every position and get layups. Curry can probably handle Gray just fine in the post, better than most guys.

Knicks again? Who else is sick of playing them? Meanwhile, our division rival, Cleveland, when do we see them, not til like a month or two, for the first time, then a bunch of games bunched up at the end against them so the matchup gets boring, stupid schedule

A defiant Isiah Thomas said he has no plans to ask Knicks owner James Dolan for a leave of absence from the bench to focus on the team presidency, saying he will "fix this and make it right" from the coach's seat.

Dolan has no immediate plans to ask Thomas to move upstairs either.

With the Knicks riding a seven-game losing streak and carrying a despicable 8-24 record into the United Center to face the Bulls tonight, Thomas claimed better coaches may be out there to guide Team Titanic II, but none will be as "committed" to saving the sinking ship than him.

"I know I won't find a more passionate person and a more committed person to do this than myself," Thomas said. "Sure, there could be smarter people. But in terms of the determination and a passion to make it right, I know I'm not going to find anyone out there who wants to do it more than I want to do it right now."
