That was an article by Tomasson in the RMN this morning, which means its complete bull speculation. It doesn't even make sense.....if we're looking to "shed salary" why would we use our TE just to take on more salary....or why would we trade Bobby Jones for someone with a guaranteed contract, instead of just cutting him and saving the money that way? Garbage.

well I just read in the endnotes of the RMN article that Bobby Jones was waived after the game vs the 76ers.

meh, I realized quickly that tubby was going to do the usual "lets go with 2 midgets in the backcourt because it works in the regular season...even though its going to get us stomped in the playoffs again and we won't have enough time to adjust to something else."
Maybe the Hornets will pick him up, Bobby seems like a Byron Scott kind of bench player.

that he could save a few bucks before the deadline hits for his contract to be guaranteed. I could see Bobby returning for a smaller deal if he wants to stay here, otherwise a team with a need for bench help at the 3 is where he belongs. The guy definitely deserves some playing time in this league as he is a very solid all around player. It just was going to be hard here because of Carmelo at the 3, which is the position that Bobby belongs playing. Someone could be able to get a bit of a steal, but it was a move for money that was more than likely going to have to happen if bobby wasn't making a big impact off the bench, which he hadn't yet due to Karl hardly playing him, not the mention the rest of the bench that goes unused.

So, I'm trying to figure out why you guys would cut him. I see it's for financial reasons as it usually is.
But can anyone shed any light on if this kid is a player? Or did he not deserve to be in the league.
Judging by the post above he deserves some minutes.
The Bucks are sorely needing a SF and a prospect like Bobby Jones is making me drool if we can get him.

He was actually hitting the three, and playing with a lot of energy on D. Seemed like he could have helped the team, but Denver has a douche bag for a coach who f*cks with young players unless their white.
Oh, no.. not calling Karl racist.. but LK makes his share of mistakes, started out the season shooting poorly.. yet he is still getting minutes while Yak and JR (Both who were shooting a lot better) and Jones, were sent to the bench.
LK does supposedly work hard in practice, but doesn't supposedly Yak? And what about Jones, anyone know how well he practiced?

Jones got a lot of his minutes early in the season, but now that Atkins and Carter are both healthy, he would be the 11th or 12th man. There was really no need for him in Denver any more since he wasn't gonna play, so they decided to save some money (double his salary since we are over the tax), so they cut him before his deal became guarenteed.
I think he plays with a good deal of energy, but he isn't the most talented player in the world. He would certainly help the Bucks perimiter defense, and can hit the occasional three. He's definately talented enough to play in this league, but he's a role player or end of the bench guy on most teams.
