Magic-Sixers... again

Post#1 » by youngcrev » Mon Jan 7, 2008 8:03 pm

Rodney Carney, Willie Green and Reggie Evans
for
James Augustine, Keyon Dooling and Pat Garrity

The Magic upgrade their wing position, and add a monster rebounder to help Dwight out. Downside: take on longterm salary.

pg Jameer Nelson / Arroyo
sg Willie Green / Bogans
sf Rashard Lewis / Carney
pf Hedo Turkoglu / Evans
c Dwight Howard / Foyle

The Sixers dump salary of players that don't seem to have much of a place longterm. Downside: talent downgrade (big time)

pg Andre Miller / Williams
sg Andre Iguodala / Dooling
sf Thad Young / Giricek
pf Jason Smith / Amundson
c Sam Dalembert / Booth

Clear salary dump. Should the Sixers do this? IMO there's no need to dump 3 guys.

Well... if the Sixers are going to dump three salaries, these three guys would be at the top of my list.

With that being said, there should be some form of a pick involved going to the Sixers.

The Magic do this in a Heartbeat if they had any brains. Garrity isn't even healthy, or playing at all. Augustine is not playing, and won't be re-signed. Dooling is playing, and averaging about 19 Min a game. With Arroyo sucking like he is at the guard spot, they probably wound't like to see Dooling go, but in all likelyhood Philly would just release him anyways, so he could just go back to Orlando after 1 month anyways. However like the other poster said, why would Philly just let all of these guys go ?

Yeah I know it opens up more cap space. But unlike some others here who like to THINK that Evans, and Green and Carney have NO value, they're deluded, cause they do. You are talking about a huge rebounding/toughness upgrade in Evans. Another good scoring guard off the bench in Green, and Green also offers protection cause in all likelyhood Boygans will opt-out of his deal after this year and test free agency, cause he's worth more than the 2.4 million he is due next year. And Carney is only 1 year out since being a 1st round pick. So who knows if he might develope into something special.

Even though the Anti-sixer pundits here will say we're Nuts! Philly would have to get at least a 1st round pick out of this deal. Orlando doesn't have one to deal this year, but 2009 they do.

That would have to be included here.
