As a whole I like CBC, though i disagree with the level of government cheese they receive.
But I'm really not that impressed with Elliot Friedman. He is not a bad broadcaster, but that is about the most positive thing I can say about him. I find him very boring, and if he was at a party, I would rather sit by myself than get stuck talking to him.
He does not have a great voice, he is not exactly a looker, and he doesn't have an engaging personality. Are we that hard up for Canadian talent?

I'll never forget Elliot for this moment:
When I was 15, Elliot came to my summer camp to speak. He was apparently an alum or something. The staff were trying to market the event to the camp as a "motivational speech", talking about his success in life, etc. etc.
His list of accomplishments:
-Getting kicked out of private school at the age of 11, for mouthing off at the teachers
-Getting kicked out of another camp for sneaking out into town for drinking
-Dropping out of Western (in spite of this, his bio says he graduated)
-Getting a cushy job at the Fan590 through family connections
Truly an inspiring tale.

Are you guys serious? He's awful man. He acts like a contest winner on camera, moving his lips along with the interviewee's response. It's like he giggles like a schoolgirl after the camera turns off - "I just got to talk to Sam Mitchell!"
Funny how you can see what he looks like after the camera turns off.

wow, tell me who you enjoy looking at during NBA games.
its a broadcast, not a beauty pageant. in all seriousness, I get the scope of what you are getting at, but we got Chuck, Leo and Jack for 82 games...and your complaining that Elliot Freedman isnt a 'looker'??

Elliotte Freidman has been at the top of his class for years now. He will become Canada's number 1 sports braodcaster eventually. Hes young only 37 and has worked his way up the ladder big time.
It is great to see an actual professional cover the Raptors, not basketball people trying to be broadcasters.
Btw, Elliotte has always know a lot about basketball because he was their beat writer/reporter for Headline sports/The Score about 6-7 years ago. Basketball was his main thing, then hockey and now he does everything.

the rishmiculous way his first name's spelled.
Otherwise, he is really good. he's very intelligent.
i pray cbc does the right thing and let's him club Bob Cole to death.
lol
He does that to himself every game he calls. That man hit senility about 3 years ago and nobody at the CBC has noticed, which is in itself worrying.
