Who are these many fans that a) said that and b) are still still supporting him?

Please be specfic- generalizations were so 2007

I'm not the type who quote others, but I clearly remember quite of few threads from Lakers fans on the board stating the disdain they had and that they don't even care for him anymore.

how convienent that you cant even cite an example but you can continue to generalize.

Many people were upset at how Kobe handled the situation and if you listen to bryant now he was too.

I being a memeber of the Laker board for many years cant recall one poster that has such disdain for Kobe as you say and then all of a sudden flipped a switch and now "roots" for him.

Bottomline: is the Core Laker fan is no different then any other fanbase. Do we have some crazy Kobe fans? Sure. We also have probably more fans than most other teams so our crazy will show a little more.

When you make a claim like you did.. you are making a generalzation probably based on a post you read somewhere but it really doesnt have any truth or really reflect how us Laker fans feel.

Still, Laker fans are perfectly justified flipping a switch on Bryant since he flips a switch on them by threatening disloyalty

just read the the thread..is it really that crazy to have AI over Kobe? hes been more efficient and a better playmaker while Kobe has been the better defender. It looks really close to me.

And then theres Nash who shoots with great efficiency and is putting up 18-12.

Calm down people, its not that crazy to have Kobe outside the top 5.

You posted this right after my post, so i'll assume you were addressing me.

If you read the Laker board daily, you'd know why I think that JB post is sig worthy, not because AI is placed over Kobe (which I dont disagree with entirely).

i also have Allen Iverson ahead of Kobe

and as it is no surprise, i will vouch for my boy Paul Pierce who is playing as complete a game as anyone at his position

Lebron and Caron come to mind but neithers defense has been as stellar as Pierces, i'm talking defense not steals and blocks, his defense has been great

No, its not that crazy. Iverson is scoring the same as Kobe is with a little better fg%. Kobe is a better rebounder and just 2 dimes behind AI. Kobe is also a better defender.

The part that seems to overlooked is that AI also has his running mate in the top 4 to his 2 in scoring and has the reigning DPOY and the Nuggets have been picked over the Lakers this year and most years.

meanwhile, back at Laker central he doesnt get credit for his team play as well as they have. Feeding the emerging Bynum ( who is the closest all-star he has) and leading a team on Offense and Defense that on paper most people dont have to make the playoffs.

So, AI is having a great season and I really dont care where Kobe comes up on these lists. I would just like to see the same rules applied to Kobe that others tend to get.

Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Lebron, KG are automatics as the Top 4 players who are currently playing the best. You can make a argument for the 5th spot, but Iverson is having one of his best seasons.

Brandon Roy (without Greg Oden) has led the Blazers to a surprising start and there on pace for 50 wins. Tim Duncan has the Spurs with the best record in the West.

I think the Lakers success is due to the development of Bynum, farmar and the acquisition of Fisher. Kobe in my opinion is having one of his worse years since 2000. Very similair year to 2003/2004

The development of the players i mentioned has helped the team still win despite that.

What do you espect him to average when the rest of the team is finally playing well ?
Kobe's having the best season since 2000 - 2001. Not statistically, but as a team leader and as a generator of the whole good stuff which is happening to this team now. No need to score 40+, even 30+ points anymore, he scores 15 points and the team blows out by 31 points !

I think Lebron has been the best player this season. But if the season were to end today I would give MVP to Chris Paul hands down.

Kobe's numbers are down and the Lakers are still winning. Maybe it goes to show that unlike AI who is one dimensional (scoring) Kobe can help his team win even if he is shooting 44%.

I actually enjoy seeing Kobe play. It is just funny that many Lakers fans still support him even though they said they wouldn't when he demanded out.

For someone who claims to be a "fan" of Kobe you sure do take a lot of jabs at Kobe in several threads.

We aren't fooled. Saying you are a fan of Kobe, then saying something negative about him does not make your word any more credible.

And I'm not saying you've done it entirely in this thread because I haven't read it all, I just thought this was funny. :x
