Emeka Okafor

I may just be :banghead: with the bobcats, but why wouldn't a 6' 10" giant not play a very strong PF when it's clear that Nazr could do a better job at the C position.

He means he wants Okafor to play PF and have Nazr start at C

offensively having that front to would hurt you quite a bit, its more a question of you have the wings to make up for that.

they have one wing in wallace, and j rich tends to disappear too often. man, looking at that roster, and the young talent they have...what a disappointment. they should model themselves after the blazers. maybe its time already that michael gets kicked...

If you go big generally you can own the small ball team. Phil Jackson doesn't start Ronny Turiaf instead of Bynum when they play the suns or Warriors.

Well he does have a very versatile PF in Odom. Odom's not your traditional big.

Just imagine if the Magic had selected Okafor #1. The Bobcats would have been freaking scary:

C Dwight Howard/Nazr Mohammed
F Sean May/Jared Dudely
F Gerald Wallace/Adam Morrison
G Jason Richardson/Matt Carroll
G Raymond Felton/Derek Anderson

Is it just me or am i imagining things. It seems like Okafor is becoming Shawn Bradley nr.2 , hes been dunked on hard this year. And some of the dunks on him are pretty nasty ones....

Okafor has been disappointing and I'm not sure he is that much better than Nazr. He sure isn't better offensively; he can't make FT's, barely shoots 50% and that's only 10 shots a game. His biggest asset rebounding is inconsistent; yes he avg's 10 a game but he will have 3 or 4 games of single digit rebounds and then explode for 20.........
I'm so tired of the typical......

Whenever I see the Bobcats play, I think that they don't use Okafor right. I really think he's better offensively then his stats show. Not saying that he's a 20+ ppg player, but I think he could average 18 ppg on 50% shooting.

I think he should still become a 17/11 player with very good defense and shotblocking.

shot blockers get dunked on. who cares? shawn bradley was one of the best shot blockers in the last 20 years and a damn good player, but everyone only remembers him getting dunked on and the fact that he's big and white.

Bogut torched him the other night, and i kept wondering why they didn't keep Nazr in for longer and put Okafur to the 4, he couldn't handle boguts size and strength.

I think the Bobcats are misusing Okafor, I actually think they have no idea what they're doing, their coach flat out sucks.

Okafor doesn't have strength issues against most centers, he is having a pretty bad year defensively as a whole though. I don't know which position he should play at more often, he is pretty unskilled compared to most power forwards... he doesn't really have a jumper or handles so he gets a lot of his points by cleaning things up or using his athleticism off the ball. I guess he would get more post-up advantages as a PF but I doubt it would be enough to compensate. His prime value is as a rebounder/shotblocker and he is usually a solid low post defender because of his strength so I don't see why you'd move him away from those things.

Does anyone think that Okafor's heart is not always in it? Could be a reason for his inconsistency.

They need a new coach... Okafor should be much better than what he is right now.
