Magic @ Kings
vs.
Who: Orlando Magic(22-12) vs. Sacramento Kings(12-20)
When: Tuesday, January 8th
Where: ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA
Time: 10:00 PM EST
TV/Radio:FSFL/580 AM
Season Series: First Meeting
Team Trivia Connection: The Magic have only beaten the Kings in ARCO in 1 out of 15 tries with the last road victory coming from last season.
The Lowdown
So far into the new year 2008. The Magic are 0-2 at home with both losses combined for 3pts. The last two games show that free throws are very crucial to determine whether a team wins a game or not. In the case of Dwight Howard, he has to work on controling his strength at the free throw line after going 9-20 in the last two games at the FT line. The Magic will go West Coast Swingin for 4 games beginning with the Sacramento Kings. This is the first matchup of the season between these two teams. The Kings are 8-8 at home and are in the mist of a two game losing skid. The Kings are basically struggling w/o their key players with Ron Artest being the latest player hit with an injury that will have him out for a while. The Magic seem to have better luck on the road so since it's the Kings. They should be able to take care of them w/o any major problems, but at the same time, do not underestimate them b/c of their struggles. Any wounded opponent can become dangerous if underestimated and don't have anything to lose.
Magic Tricks of the Game
1. Hit the boards hard.
2. Better offensive production from the Magic.
3. Word to D-12: Take your time and make your free throws.

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Without Artet, Bibby, Martin, and SAR, the Kings are thin up and down. Desperate teams starting scrubs basically at all positions can be dangerous.
Still, the Magic have had days to prepair for this game, and are hungry after blown loses late in the last two games.
I see this a a win.
It will be curious to see if Arroyo/Dooling start, or as StM hinted, Nelson/Bogans.

Rashard better do something soon or I'm going to have to start calling him the human marshmellow.
Just letting you guys know in advance
I couldnt agree more, I am majorly disappointed in him. I dont know whats holding him back to show his $118m worth.
Is it me or do you also feel that if he steps one foot inside the 3point line its gauranteed he wont make the shot?

Without Artest and Martin, I see this as a sizable win for the Magic (crossing fingers). Brad Miller will likely do nothing against Howard. I say we win by at least 10 if everyone shows up, like Jameer and a couple of reserves. BTW, I know you guys were expecting 30 ppg from Shard, but I'll take the 19 ppg as the 2nd or 3rd option anytime. He could stand to be more aggressive though.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Don't understimate the Kings. Some of you may not have seen them play, but Salmons and Garcia can play.
The frontcourt of Miller, Moore and Hawes is pretty decent. They aren't power players, but they can draw Dwight out from the basket.
If Udrih, Garcia and Salmons are on, they too can make it rain from downtown.

did anyone ever think they'd be saying that?
Honestly no. He had a nice rookie season then I guess he just fell our of favor in SA, their style maybe didnt suit him, and he found a great situation in Sac. Im just wondering why did the Wolves waive him? They didnt even try him out. Oh yea McHale runs them thats right lol.

Maybe I am wrong but I recall SA coach saying nothing but good things about him before the cam in Sac town. So even if he was out of favor I have feeling it was never a question of talent.
