This is your problem. I WISH it was just one game! Pull your head out of the sand already!

1 game on the road is what I said, we're a bad road team. Besides it's not like we ezxactly lost to a bad team, portland is what 16 or their last 17?

The truth is, besides all the before stated (The FO screwing up with the whole Fisher (unavoidable, but Hart???), Dee and Hoffa situation and the lack of leadership-heart this team shows) we've had a bad schedule and bad breaks to go with it. Right when we were clicking, Memo got hurt and JUST THEN, we started a BRUTAL strech of games, where, to be fair, could have won ALL of them if not for dismal finishes. Our chemistry (the little we had) was brought down and we had NO VET LEADERS to bring our young guys up again. Right now, we are a VERY YOUNG TEAM, with ENOURMUS PRESSURE (because of the whole WCF's thing) and no and I mean NO leadership. On top of that we've played the most games in the NBA, and have almost twice as much road games as home games by now.

Since that strech (when Memo got hurt and we went on that HUGE road trip) this team is in disarray because our young guys (most of our rotation) are somewhat lost in it. I believe once we get a good amount of home games to actually build on we'll be on track. As you can see, Portland got just that. They had a VERY home heavy schedule and playing with NO PRESSURE AT ALL got momentum and build a good chemistry which is what we lost and haven't been able to get back. So, after we get a good strech of home games, I believe we'll have a much better look at where THIS (07-08) team stands.

I still think the Jazz will make the playoffs and possibly make some noise there......I think Okur has been more hurt than he has let on and is finally getting healthy....anyone else notice the past two games he hasn't shied from contact ik he was earlier.....

I think you guys will beat out either the Lakers, who are over achieving, or the Warriors for the 7th or 8th spot.

As long as you don't play San Antonio in the first round, you guys would be a big pick to pull an upset as well. I know you're down on your team after recent play, but the Jazz are still a scary team.
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

Playoff Odds

If anyone here still places an iota of faith in the numerical musings of John Hollinger, it's interesting that he places us in a position to again avoid the Suns/Mavs/Spurs trio until the Conference Finals.

Isn't this part of what I was saying Jazzy Nets? 20 Years + Different Players = SAME RESULT!

You said it yourself.

Time for change.

Finally, are you SERIOUS when you question whether or not we would have beaten Dallas in the 2nd round last year? Come on man ... I love the Jazz too, but reality check please.

The real gem in that ****'s analysis is that even though the Jazz, Rockets and Nuggets all finish with the same projected record, the Jazz somehow have a 15% greater chance of making the playoffs than the Nuggets. Will this **** make up his mind? Oh and Portland is projected to have a better record, yet has a smaller chance than us to make the playoffs. Math is obviously not his strong suit. Plus I loved his "explanation" of why his predictions were they way they are. I realize that he wrote that article on Dec 6th, but it's still **** hilarious:

So the Jazz are a mortal lock to win the Northwest? To this method's eyes they are, because it doesn't know that the Nuggets are fielding half a team right now. If and when the Nuggets get their lineup intact, their Hollinger Power Ranking should improve, and based on that so will their projected finish. That said, by then it's possible they will have lost too much ground, because the Jazz look awfully strong so far.

Way to curse us jackazz.

If we want to make the playoffs, we need a "montage" where we learn how to play defense, take care of the ball, shoot free throws and close out games.

Boozer rare off night, kyle didnt stretch the floor very well no AK, lose to the hottest team in the league. If we drop a few at home then its time to panic.

Sorry guys, I think you are the odd team out this year. I don't think you can catch Denver or Portland, and I can't see the NW division getting three teams in the play-offs this year. I agree with whoever said earlier that you need a change. You surprised a lot of people last year and overachieved, but Derek Fisher had a lot to do with that and now he is gone. Deron Williams is GREAT. He is awesome. But he needs a better team around him. Boozer is pretty good, but he can be shut down when good defensive teams focus on him. Kirilenko and Okur are your problem, imo, they are good, but not good enough, and they don't fit the "young players that will grow with this team" mold. What you see is what you get with those guys, and you should move them for better pieces.

Let me guess, portland is this good defensive team? Boozer doesn't get shut down, he has had 2 bad games one in miami and one in portland. Boozer shut himself down, he just had a bad night.

People that say the jazz wont make playoffs, are simply morons you really are. 26 more home games, 21 road games now unless the jazz completely implode and lose over 70% of their road games and go 50% at home, the jazz will make the playoffs.

Over who? Everyone knows the Spurs, Suns, and Mavs will be there. That leaves 5 spots for us. In those spots right now are the Hornets, Lakers, Blazers, Nuggets, and Warriors. The only teams I see us having a chance of catching are the Warriors and maybe the Blazers, although Portland is looking like they're for real. Their upcoming road trip will tell a lot.

And don't forget about Houston who is going to be right there at the end as well.

With the way this team plays on the road and their pathetic effort on defense, what makes you so confident? .500 ball is NOT going to make the playoffs in the west.

Oh just caught the warriors game last night and they just beat the spurs. seems like they're staying in the 8th spot and arent falling anytime soon even if they go .500 for the rest of the season

If they go .500 the rest of the season they'll be in the lottery. You're assuming every other team is just gonna go .500 too or something.

The Jazz would probably have to be a low 40 win team to miss the playoffs. I don't think they fall that bad.

Yes the division is better this year, but I don't think Portland will keep up their pace and the Jazz are going to put up some wins at some point, they've got too much talent not too.

I really don't think this club goes .500 the rest of the way, and that's what they'd have to do to miss the playoffs. A 1,2,3, of 4 seed? Perhaps not, but well get in at 5 or 6. This team is ramping up to make a run...
