The Odom tackle could have caused more injury when Ray landed in the crowd than the actual hit.

It's possible that some conditions are chiropractic, and can be fixed by a visit (or several) to a chiropractor, where the rotated disc is manipulated back into proper alignment, eliminating the impingement on any nerves.

I have had several sports injuries from falls, the worst being when I was hit by a moving vehicle.

It took 18 months of chiropractic visits to rotate my discs back to normal, but I wound up as good as new.

From the condition Ray describes, it may be something that can be cured with a few (or regular) visits to the chiropractor.

I was able to resume my 3 mile runs 3 times per week, bike 35 miles non-stop every week (one 2 minute rest at the turn around point), and play golf, tennis and skate again.

Hopefully Ray's problem will be fixed also.

I sincerely hope that Ray is not afraid to use a good chiropractor, and that someone advises him of their capabilities.

The unfortunate thing in my case was I waited to long to see one, because every orthopedist I saw simply was waiting for the condition to deteriorate, at which point that they would perform surgery.

It finally dawned on me when my physical therapist (who it turns out wouldn't overtly recommend a chiropractor) mentioned repeatedly to me "that my vertebrae weren't properly aligned."

I asked my orthopedist why he didn't recommend a chiropractor, and he said that they subscribed to different schools of thought. Chiropractors believe in flexible spines. Orthopedists wait for the spine to fail, and then repair it.

I figured out what was going on (and also realized when an acupuncurist kepting touching a few of my vertebrae and going "oooooh" that they weren't aligned, and got the problem fixed by a chiropractor.

I was able to avoid surgery.

Long winded way of saying orthopedists and physical therapists do not necessarily recommend chiropractors (they didn't in my case, even though I clearly needed one).

Yeah, I blame Odom...give him three more games (suspended).

Totally agree about chiropractors, traditional orthopedists or physical therapists will pretty much never recommend them. Chiropractors don't believe in medication and pharmaceuticals, which goes contrary to the medical establishment's goals.

anyway, yeah i can't believe Odom didn't get more than 1 game. Please. If that was Artest he would have gotten a month. People get 1 game for a hard foul that wasn't intentional and was "in the moment". This was essentially premeditated, he ran over to Ray and just tackled him, when Ray wasn't even the person he was mad at. He was out of control. It's really unacceptable, if things had gone a bit differently Ray could have been really hurt.

My acupuncturist was also an osteopath.

MD from University of Michigan.

Although he pressed on my vertebrae, causing me pain, and "oued" a lot, he never said that I needed to see a chiropractor. He let me draw that conclusion by myself, every time he pressed on a vertebrae and I felt like he stuck a knife in me. Normally, you shouldn't feel a thing.

Again, you have to figure it out for yourself, or have someone explain that you're feeling pain from a pinched nerve due to a rotated vertebrae, or your back is structurally weakened by the misalingment (whether rotated or slipped) of one of your vertebrae.
