4-1 without Redd
Yes, I'm including the Miami win.

Not a big enough sample to draw full conclusions yet. However, unarguably we play harder and we move the ball better without Redd. Where I think it would come more into play is when we start playing the better teams without him.
If they can win some on that WC trip without him, it would mean a lot more.

They aren't as talented but play much better perimeter defense (with the exception of tonights second half when they could not stop dribble penetration at all) and a much more unselfish brand of basketball, not to mention much more athletic with Ivey in......looks like Philly needs a shooter....Redd for Iggy....lets get it on.

We've played some terrible, terrible teams in this stretch.....I think we are in for a rude awakening these next 10 games.
And at the end, our guys (I think CV, Mo, Bell, even Ivey) chucked some terrible ISO/Non team-ball bricks under 2 minutes that could have just as easily been Redd......Philly just matched us brick for brick, otherwise we would have lost tonight.
That said, I agree with xTitan...the perimeter defense is better....ball movement is better........I'm ready to pull the trigger if Larry finds the right trade tomorrow.

Mo Williams isn't the problem, but neither is Michael Redd.
The problem is that they're together. When Redd returns, there goes the teamwork. Mo and Mike don't play together efficiently, therefore they take all the shots away. Bogut, CV, and yes, even Bell showed tonight that the Bucks perform better when there's teamwork. With Mo and Mike in the backcourt, that's not possible.
Once again one of them needs to go.

Why do a lot of you after the thread starter say "discuss"? Isn't that why we post and start threads?
Would no one chime in if you didn't say discuss? I just find that odd.

This is the most important point... if we could have gotten some of these bench players to step up in prior games perhaps we would have a better record right now. The biggest glaring problem we have had this year is NO consistent production coming our bench. Finally getting something from our bench is HUGE.WRau1 wrote:All 3 of the wins are when a different bench player stepped up. If they did that when Mike was here, we'd be a playoff team.

They didn't look for Bogut much either late and tonight with Redd out they should have. Hell with Redd in they should. But you are correct as you always are press unless you disagree with me. (kidding) There were some mistakes that could have cost us. Mo had three TO's in that one possesion but in the box score it only counts as one.

The thing is, if Redd played....we would have won all of those games either way...except maybe the Miami game. Redd being gone doesn't give Bell an excuse to shoot well from the field. It's not Redd's fault that Bell and CV suddenly decided to be consistent. And don't even try to argue that him being there makes them play bad. Players around the league can come off the bench and shoot well and do all the things a bench player should do, its just our bench hasn't done that.
If our bench plays well, we'll win. They can do that with Redd here.

I have to admit I am also very concerned about the fact that we have played against some bad teams during this stretch and have bearily won those games.paulpressey25 wrote:We've played some terrible, terrible teams in this stretch.....I think we are in for a rude awakening these next 10 games.

Well teams shooting over 50% as a team against us also aids in our losing record, as does the back court of Redd and Williams turning the ball over and not able to stop anybody. Our supposed stars are starting, it's not the scrubs on the bench as much as it has been Redd, Bell and Williams that are resposible for our moribid season to date.

How do you guys compare how Redd typically plays with how Bell has done the last two games? Reason I ask is that Bell has obviously done well, but it has been a different "well" from Redd. More defense, more ball movement.
Could we replace Redd with a SG who would do what Bell has done these last two nights and improve our salary structure and maybe get something else to go with it? And not see a downturn on the floor i.e. Jamal Crawford and David Lee? I wish Redd would not be able to play these next two games so we could see this team go up against top tier opponents without Redd.
I like the fact that Bogut, CV and Yi all got decent opportunities tonight on offense and it didn't seem like they were going to have one shot and then it's back to Redd.

I guess it is Dwayne Wade's fault that he can't carry the Heat to the playoffs surrounded by scrubs then too. He's second in the league in TOs... Yeah he is the reason they can't win. Not Ricky Davis, Jason Williams, Smush Parker, Mark Blount, Chris Quinn and Dorrell Wright...
Those guys are just fine, it's Wade's fault.

What would happen with Redd out against good teams? Our opponents would play man and not have to dbl or worry about anyone and we would score 70pts. Thats what would happen.
