Who would win in a series between these two ball clubs?,Some of the lakers fan believe if they faced denver in the first round they'll win in 6.If they did meet up in the playoff which is possible, who do you think has the better chance at advancing?,I pick denver in 6.

Denver would win a series against the Lakers. The Lakers would beat them in the regular season, but Iverson is a different player in the playoffs.

And Kobe isn't?

Anyway I prefer to talk when they really do meet. I expect Lakers to have the homecourt,

Silly question. Who guards AI? Answer is NO ONE. Neither of those players are really CAPABLE of being guarded, only slowed down. I hate the Lakers, but I take them in 7 over Denver. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see Denver take the series.

Nuggets in 6.

Id rather the Nuggets face the Mavs though. I think the Lakers are scarier than the Mavs.

kobe hates karl (used to talk crap about him all the time on espn)...he'd use that as extra motivation, and would get pissed that karl has the nerve to put anthony carter on him...and he'd use that as more motivation.
phil jackson would own karl in strategy/matchups/rotations/everything
melo/iverson would score at will

Actually Kobe has guarded AI pretty effectively recently.

The thing is the Lakers can at least make AI work on the defensive end... Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar are both having good years... Kobe could save all his energy for the offensive end where the Nuggets would have no answer... The Lakers are a much better defensive team then they get credit for... They hold opposing teams to terrible percentages... Melo and AI as two high volume low percentage shooters would just feed the Lakers defense

Melo and AI as two high volume low percentage shooters would just feed the Lakers defense

yet they're both shooting better percentages from the field than kobe this season....or kobe's career average. wouldn't his 40-something percent shooting feed the nuggets fastbreak? (he'd probably shoot 53% on carter, but khoubas at least a good defender)

The Lakers are a much better defensive team then they get credit for... They hold opposing teams to terrible percentages

also, the lakers may be good at holding opponents to low fg%...but they also foul a ton...3rd most in the league, in fact. utah had a good opponent fg% last year, but they fouled a ton too (strategy being...no easy baskets, rather foul than give up a layup)....that doesn't make them a good defensive team. iverson/melo would both average well over 10 free throw attempts a game.

I wouldn't count on it. 2 chuckers as opposed to 1 is a big advantage for the Lakers. And Kobe is not chucking much.

Yeah and then the other chucker cancels it out. :P
What I mean is the Lakers have more balance on offense that allows us to be 3rd/4th in the league in O with Kobe's scoring down by 4 points from last year.

Anyway I was just playing the chucker line because someone started it. I didn't really think it will come to that.

AI dropped 51 and had 18 free throw attempts against the Lakers on his home court and the Lakers still won. He was untouchable that game and got phantom calls one after another. Best flopping performance I've seen all season. But Kobe and Ariza shut him down in the 4th quarter. He would see more of that kind of defense in the playoffs. Unlike the Nuggets, the Lakers are capable of tightening up their defense as a team when they need to. And Phil Jackson is a genius in the playoffs.
