Yeah, I told my brother that Joe Smith would be enough to get the Bulls to the finals. Granted, I said that before the Celtics were assembled, and we still could get to the finals...

That being said, he reminds me after every loss about what I said.

I love you, Joe.

Joe Smith is a bad boy, he takes minutes away from Tyrus.
Further proof that you dont have to be flashy to be effective.

I agree. That's why I started the 'Joe Smith is Better Than God' thread before it was in style.

Why are you trying to do this. Why corrupt a beautiful thread. It's quite simple to play both. Even if Smith plays 35 a game, there are still 13 minutes for Thomas at PF. Smith or Thomas can play part time center as well.

Anyone else notice how Joe Smith looks like he's smiling every single second he's on the court?

Its really too bad Gray cant guard anyone. He would be pretty deadly with Gray and Smith out there.

I never really watch alot of his game prior to this season when he joined the team. He seems like a very lieable guy. He smiles alot and seems to always take things in stride.

I'm kind of weary of all the minutes he's getting though because it is a long season. Boylan should really play the big line-up more or Gray, Tyrus and Noah more to sub out Wallace and Smith if only because of their legs plus the young guys can get some quality on-game experience aside from just during practice. It'll really benefit the team health-wise and experience (depth) wise.

Agreed with the premise of the thread. For all of our desire to play the youngins, for some reason, Joe Smith is THRIVING in our system. 31 and 11 against Portland? 16 and 9 against someone. Sacto? The man is getting OFF!

We were happy to get 10 and 8 from him, but I dare say that he hasn't shown as many flashes in his WHOLE CAREER as he has shown during his....what? 6 months with the Bulls?

Loving it. If there was ever a reason NOT to defer to young talent, this man is it. If anything, I'd like to package his A$$ in a trade. Not because he isn't good, but because Tyrus is up an coming and might do that or better, and because Joe Smith is proving his value which may get us a good return.

Package Ben Wallace's expiring contract and Joe Smith's talented play and get you some assets!

I think Joe Smith is the perfect example of how opportunity means everything in the NBA. The guy was a top pick and played well in GS. He was then traded to Larry Brown who felt his defense wasn't strong enough to warrant him starting minutes. He then went from averagin 17 and 7 in 49 (34 mpg) for GS to 10 and 4 off of the bench in Phily (in only 23 minutes).

The following season he was forced to defer to KG. Scoring big man combo's rarely are successful. By this time, Smith was labled as a bust and role player. Later he'd help the Bucks and Sixers overachieve. Now he's finally on a team that's struggling so much that he has a chance to prove his talent. I'm not surprised that he's showing he can consistently get big numbers. He was the #1 pick for a reason.

I'm glad to see an athlete happy to be paid millions to play a game.

I hope he keeps up the good play.

Im really happy for Joe Smith. He has been solid actually better than solid. Its a pity we havent had more wins to show for it.

If we had this Joe Smith last year instead of PJ, we could have been in the finals.
