Most people would probably not be happy for getting fired in this scenario. They'd be able to look at the bright side, but it still wouldn't be considered good news.
This isn't to say that I think we should have waited on firing Skiles for a different day to make him feel better. I was all for firing him ASAP, and if we hadn't fired him yet, and were willing to on Christmas Eve then I was darn glad we did instead of waiting until the 26th.
Okay doug, I can see your point there. But considering what I have seen people at my workplace endure over the past couple of months, every single one of them would have been ecstatic if they could have recieved a year and a half severence package. Instead, they didnt get jack s**t and it happened the day before Thanksgiving. My point is that the Skiles situation is far different because his livelyhood didnt come crashing down when the Bulls fired him. The people that I just mentioned damn near lost everything. See the difference?
