I will note one thing though, history suggests that when Paxson is frustrated with something he takes decisive action. The criticism that he's slow to act when he's relatively happy with something may or may not have merit, but one thing is for certain: When he's pissed he's not afraid to break out the wrecking ball.

I have no doubt that John Paxson is extremely frustrated right now. I expect him to do something significant to define the direction of this franchise by draft day and possibly by the trade deadline.

agree 100%, and i'll add something that hasn't been addressed; i think as much as anything he's been frustrated by the complete lack of leadership/ownership by the kids he's felt the strongest about and elected to move forward with. i'm referring to deng, hinrich and gordon. the hindsight group will all use their excellent 20-20 but the results, stats, evidence weren't as clear as they've become and any good gm won't rush to judgment on players. even danny ainge waited 3 years of being a bottom feeder with a star player before pulling the plug. the bulls are in need of a retooling, NOT a rebuilding.

all this nonsense regarding his tenure and how he should be fired isn't going to happen anytime soon; there are good players and keepers in the bunch. as duck stated, he's going to do something decisive and though it might not be soon enough for some (and will likely displease and disgust others), it will be a defining move that will connote a different direction.

time will again tell how successful this will be; i think he's begun to feel his patience isn't going to be rewarded in the way he'd projected.

Which is why Cliff Levingston said "yes." Any move to dump Nocioni or Wallace for something that'll cost less and not get in the way of us developing our youth would be a good trade.

There's so much wrong with this team right now it's not even funny. Cliff Levingston hasn't been as discouraged with this team since before Gordon and Deng got here.

I doubt Charlotte would do that but it wouldn't hurt to try if I am the Bulls

Two trades that would be very hard for our trade partners to pass up:

1. Ben Wallace for Malik Rose and Jerome James.
* Cut Demetris Nichols to make room and maybe buy out James

Saves us a little money this season, a little next, then a lot going forward while clearing PT for the young guys. Not to mention, we'll have Malik's big expiring to use in a possible deal as early as this offseason.

2. Andres Nocioni + Chris Duhon for J.J. Redick, Keyon Dooling, Pat Garrity and the rights to Fran Vazquez.
* Cut Viktor Khryapa to make room.

We clear Noc's salary off the books almost completely via Dooling and Garrity's expiring contracts. Redick is a nice fit at SG and could be used as a cheap shooter off the bench (like Carrol is used in Charlotte). Of course, this clears room for the young guys as well.

This obviously doesn't fix the massive flaws we have in our schemes, but it all but forces Boylan to play the young guys heavy minutes.

Resulting Roster:
1. Hinrich, Gordon, Curry
2. Dooling, Redick
3. Deng, Sefolosha, Griffin
4. Smith, Thomas, Rose, Garrity
5. Noah, Gray, James

In the offseason, Cliff Levingston would then look to use Hinrich + Rose's expiring + our pick + another young guy for a star guard (or something along those lines).

Of course, Rein$dorf would never let this happen.
