NBA Draft 08 (I know it is early) put your rocket pick here

Post#1 » by wadero » Wed Jan 9, 2008 6:06 pm

I know it is early for this post but who do you want the rocket to draft in 08?

I would love to see Serge Ibaka fall to us somehow. He is 18 years old and is getting comparisions to Shawn kemp the only differance is he in from The Congo. Everything I have read is he hustle on every play and has a 40 in verticle at 6'10 230. He could provide a Chris Webber role for Adelman.

This is a little bit too early just because we don't know how this team is going to turn out...are they going to make the playoffs? Are they going to b a 50 win team like the past yrs? But Im assuming we end up around 24th or 25th pick, if we continue to play well.

Beasley is a beast... look at him doesnt he just look like he was given cornbread since a bottle? but seriously though if we end up probably around the 20th pick or so in the draft we will fare pretty good on the draft pick

Yeah Ibaka looks promising , very big long and athletic , has a nice mid range jumper with good form , good rebounder and shot blocker and always plays hard.
Seems like the perfect fit next to Yao.

Miami is looking terrible this year. If they continue to suck and they land a top 3 pick, would you trade McGrady for that pick? Rose, Beasley or Jordan + Yao seems like a better combination in 2 years than McGrady+Yao in 2 years.

Honestly if we don't make it past the 1st round this year, I would trade Yao for the 1st pick and Tmac for the 2nd or third and just rebuild with Beasley and Rose....which would be amazing in 3 yrs.

you dont trade one of the best centers in the game today for a chance at picking the nest superstar in the draft. how many players have shown a lot of potential and flopped in the nba? whether or not you like to believe it, yao is good. he is damn good. he may have faults but who dont? you build the franchise around yao and mac.

Even if we don't make the playoffs, we likely wouldn't have a pick high enough to select guys like Rose, Mayo, Jordan, Batum and others.

How about Kevin Love, is he any good?

DJ Augustin IS a true PG, but we don't need to draft him. Get Thabeet since this will, unfortunately, be Mutombo's last year.
